Friends is the institution when it comes to Queens gay bars. It has everything anyone would be looking for in a gay bar: music, good vibes, welcoming and respectful service, and what now. I've been a loyal patron for many years now. Jon is my favorite bartender/server because hes now only hospitable but also very professional and respectful. I know a lot of people will enjoy this bar.

I recently visited this bar for one quick drink after enjoying some local restaurant food, but ended up having a very bad experience. The short little muscular Colombian bartender that works on Sunday nights was very hostile toward me. Im not sure exactly what his issue is, but never in my life in all the countries I've visited and all the cities I visited have I ever had a bartender act as if he was about to jump over the counter and attack me, and lets not even speak about the brief ignorant conversation he had with me after. I have been going here for years on and off, but Im think it's time to give it a break. I had no problem with the bouncer or anyone else, but this guy was either having a bad day, jealousy, or just being racist which is what I most believe due to the dialog after. This situation almost never happened as I was about to leave due to the fact that the place was practically empty and I kept trying to get his attention as he continued to pace back and forth as if I wasn't there. I also have the video of what transpired, which I was going to add to this review, but I think this is quite sufficient.I really despise writing reviews and haven't written one in over a year, but I thought this needed to be said. I hope people who read this review see this as a warning as he slightly ruined my night the day before I flew out the country and I also hope from this review the owner trains staff appropriately as to treat clientele who are spending money with dignity and respect....otherwise people like that should re-consider working in the hospitality field 🥴.
