I recently visited this bar for one quick drink after enjoying some local restaurant food, but ended up having a very bad experience. The short little muscular Colombian bartender that works on Sunday nights was very hostile toward me. Im not sure exactly what his issue is, but never in my life in all the countries I've visited and all the cities I visited have I ever had a bartender act as if he was about to jump over the counter and attack me, and lets not even speak about the brief ignorant conversation he had with me after. I have been going here for years on and off, but Im think it's time to give it a break. I had no problem with the bouncer or anyone else, but this guy was either having a bad day, jealousy, or just being racist which is what I most believe due to the dialog after. This situation almost never happened as I was about to leave due to the fact that the place was practically empty and I kept trying to get his attention as he continued to pace back and forth as if I wasn't there. I also have the video of what transpired, which I was going to add to this review, but I think this is quite sufficient.I really despise writing reviews and haven't written one in over a year, but I thought this needed to be said. I hope people who read this review see this as a warning as he slightly ruined my night the day before I flew out the country and I also hope from this review the owner trains staff appropriately as to treat clientele who are spending money with dignity and respect....otherwise people like that should re-consider working in the hospitality field 🥴.

Friends Tavern is a hidden treasure that exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we stepped inside, we were embraced by the warmest welcome from the fantastic bar staff. The atmosphere is electric, with an incredible mix of friendly locals and visitors creating an unforgettable vibe.
The entertainment here is second to none - the performers had us captivated! As out-of-towners, we felt right at home among the fun-loving crowd. It's rare to find a place that nails every aspect of a great night out, but Friends Tavern does it effortlessly.
We're already planning our next trip back to the city, and you can bet Friends Tavern will be at the top of our must-visit list. If you're looking for an amazing time with great people, look no further. This place is an absolute must-visit!

My friends and I went to this place two months ago. We arrived around 7 pm. There were only 5 people there and we decided to stay. We found some girls with good vibes and we decided to stay longer there. We were having a great time until they We told the waiter that we would not buy any more and well I think we had had enough and well after drinking your body relaxes and I had worked all week and I felt tired the security very despotically told me that we should not go to sleep there and As if that were a hotel, when I told him I didn't know what he was talking about, he took me out of the place as if I were a criminal bill. I will never return to that filthy place since we went there every weekend and spent a lot of money but hey, it's not a big deal to say wow, I missed a lot. The service at the bar was a little confused but ok. I don't recommend it because of the poorly trained security people who don't know how to treat a trans girl. The idiots think that one is a man and that they can take you out that way and one is more sensitive. He's on female hormones and doesn't have the strength to break their ears like they deserve and if it took more than 2 months for this comment it was because they don't even deserve a bad review. But since I have no sleep or anything to do, they have me inspiring me here. Bye see you never.

I fell in love with Friends Tavern again after such a long time without going and seeing the renovation, it was luxurious. The service, as always, is incomparable to any other bar. 10 years ago, it was my first place that I visited. The waiter John served me and it made me happy to see him again, always with his good service and his smile to attend to what is missing in the bars in the area. Many successes, Friends Tavern 10/10. Service 10 , waiter 10 , bar 10 , drinks 10
Been a regular patron and enjoy the dancers and hanging out with close knit pals. however, got told to leave and thrown out and a rowdy group invaded our section and placed their items on our chairs. As a way to defuse the situation, we decided to move and find another area. while getting our items a female patron starts yelling not to touch their stuff when we politely explained we are moving. She proceeded to become aggressively loud and rude by putting her hands in my face which was disrespectful. I got loud after telling her to stop. this is what security ONLY saw. not the other side of the story. While I was already set to leave the security continued to grab me after I was in the motion of leaving and told him. I mentioned to look into the female who instigated the problem. never again. looks are deceiving. so its fine for females to talk reckless while the man gets short end. never again. swept under the rug like its nothing.

What makes this bar stand out the most is how amazing the staff is. The security, the bartenders, the waiters, and even the manager walking the room all go out of their way to make people feel welcome.
John, especially, goes above and beyond to take care of the customers and make sure they have everything they need. Even in a packed room full of customers, the drinks are always full, the hookah is always hot, and the party is always on.
With service like that, it's no wonder people come from all over the city (and further) to party at this bar.
