Love this small Japanese restaurant in my neighborhood. The sushi always fresh; the bento box of salmon and teriyaki are excellent. And most of all, the prices are reasonable.

We ordered the Maki combo. The sushi was ok, but not too flavorful and quite plain.

Happy Kitchen in Jackson Heights may not boast flash or extravagance, but that’s exactly its charm. With over 20 years of Japanese culinary expertise, the owner and team bring consistent, fresh, and heartfelt food to a cozy, inviting space. From the delicate décor and soft music to the diverse menu—sushi, bento, udon, teas—it feels authentically Japanese. I’m not Japanese, but I’ve lived in Nepal surrounded by Japanese cuisine—and here I finally found a spot that feels truly authentic. The friendly service, regular Japanese clientele, and genuine flavors keep me coming back. Highly satisfied.

This is way better than average sushi! Good prices, PERFECT atmosphere. They play soft nature sounds and light music and don’t allow phone conversations inside. We did see one patron rudely break the no loud phone calls rule, but she was asked to leave by other guests. Overall the food was really good and prices were also really good. The menu has so many options. We will be coming back!

I’m a foodie and love exploring different restaurants. I recently visited this place with my friends, and we had an amazing experience! Their sushi is absolutely top-notch — I tried the one made with real crab, and it was incredible. They also offer a variety of teas infused with dried fruits and herbs, which are not only delicious but also very healthy. Highly recommend checking it out!

I ordered a shrimp tempura roll, it was not good. The tempura part was soft not crunchy. And the toast was just bland. I also ordered chicken teriyaki and i did. It like how the sauce taste or that they use chicken thigh meat with weird seasoning. Even the salad dressing was salty and sour. Im sorry but its just wasn’t great.
