I’ve been a loyal customer of Laliguras Restaurant for over 10 years and always enjoyed their chicken momo and beef choila samay bhaji. But this is the third time they mixed up my order. When I called, they weren’t genuinely apologetic. Instead of offering any compensation, they started asking for bills and unnecessary questions — even though they clearly knew I had come in, ordered, and paid, but still received the wrong food.
After so many years of supporting them, I felt unvalued and poorly treated. Because of this experience, I’ve decided I will no longer be visiting Laliguras Restaurant.
Note : Make sure you check your order before you leave the restaurant because they don't.

had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive from the moment I walked in. They made the entire visit feel warm and comfortable. The service was quick, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the team truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food paired with amazing hospitality!

This is the worst place among all Nepali restaurants in New York City. Taste of food is disgusting the owner is so rude, costumer service is terrible. I will never go three again nor recommend this place to anyone else. This business has been absolutely horrible since the second owner took over.

I want to start off by saying that the customer service in this restaurant is terrible. Not only is the restaurant understaffed, but in several visits dining at this restaurant, the staff didn’t pay any attention to us, customers, and the owner was straight up rude to us.
In one instance, when I walked in, said “hello” to the staff and sat at one of the tables, they just remained silent and didn’t come in to take my order until 5 minutes or so later. Mind you, there were only two other customers there besides me. Also, during this whole time, one staff was there just taking off the stems of green chili peppers without a single care. Very unprofessional.
Then in yet another visit, when one of us was eating dhindo with our hands, the owner came up to us and said that we had to move to a two seated table because where we were sitting was a table meant for 6 people and there were 6 people waiting for the seats.
First off all, why didn’t the owner or the singular other staff there tell us that we couldn’t sit there in the beginning?? When we sat there, the staff gladly took our order!
Secondly, only because all the other tables there were filled with customers when we came, we decided to sit there. So, if they just told us to wait/not sit there in the beginning, instead of prioritizing our money and wanting us to be customers there, we would’ve gladly waited for empty seats or gone to another Nepali restaurant.
What the owner did was not right! Coming to our table and pestering us 3 times to move, telling us that her other customers needed seats is neither professional nor a good look for this restaurant. Again, it wasn’t our fault that we had already been seated and received our orders there, so for the owner to come to our table again and again compelling us to finish eating quickly and leave, is not a fair to us. She put us down, instead of providing a good service, especially when she should know that it’s hard for a person eating with their hand to move.
Also, this same owner during that time told me to move my plate towards her and shift to the seat next to me. (the other person and I were sitting diagonally) I don’t want to come off as rude, but after all the attitude she had shown us, isn’t it her job to collect the plate? Why should I have to make her job easy for her while she’s pestering us to change our seating in the middle of eating?
And last but not least the meat that comes in the curries are terrible. The meat is so chewy that some pieces were not even consumable. (other reviews under this resultant have mentioned this as well).
Also, the momo is obviously old (not fresh) because when eating it, the meat goes one way and the cover goes another.
To sum up: terrible food, attitude, and customer service. I regret spending money here for the second time.
So, if the lady owner sees this: Yes, I want my refund and no I don’t have the receipt.

Ordered a goat thali for takeout and it was a mess: everything veg curry, pickles/achar, greens leaf , lime, onions was crammed into one small box, all mixed together. The goat pieces were mostly bone with very little meat. Not worth the price.May be they did that cause it was to go .. Takeout still deserves proper packaging .

This place exceeded our already high expectations. Fantastic food as well as really friendly and efficient service. We ordered steamed veg momos, chilli chicken momos, and veg chow-mein and they were arguably the best Nepalese food I've had outside of South Asia. They truly deserve all the praise and hype coming their way.

So authentic and delicious! Our neighbor from the next table over was a frequent diner there and let us share some of her food too. So fun!

I used to visit this place back when I was in New York around 2018–2019, and the food was really good. It’s been a while, so maybe the management has changed. I recently visited again, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience.
These two stars are just for the Wai Wai Sadeko — that was good.
I had ordered my basic Nepali favorites, chow mein and fried rice, but both were really bland and tasteless. It’s sad because these are simple dishes, and I couldn’t believe they got them wrong. The chow mein even tasted a bit stale, and may be overcooked or it was old it was not edible I had to throw it away.
We mentioned it to the lady at the service — she asked what was wrong but didn’t seem very interested. Maybe she wanted to help, but I was already too disappointed and just decided to leave.
I really hope they improve the food quality and service because this place used to be so much better.

Best momos I have had outside of Kathmandu. The Dhindo buckwheat was unique and the rest of the veg thali was great.
