The food is great and the sushi was fresh and great portions! Service was a great as the food! The sizzling mo mo’s was so tasty and the right amount of spice. The hand rolls were delicious and full of color!

Tibetan Japanese offers outstanding food and service. The menu blends Tibetan and Japanese dishes, like flavorful momos and fresh sushi, with finesse. Attentive staff and a cozy ambiance make our time there perfect.

My three sisters and I ordered sushi and momos for takeout. The service was fast, but the sushi was concerningly warm. The fish was the same temp as the rice... The momos were just okay, a bit bland without the sauce but not my cup of tea even with.

Nestled right in the heart of Jackson Heights, Tibetan Japanese is exactly the kind of low-key, no-fuss spot that makes this neighborhood special. Friendly, fast, fresh, and full of flavor — with the international charm Jackson Heights is known for.

I came in looking for sushi after my usual place was closed for renovations. A quick “sushi near me” search pointed me here, and I’m glad it did.

The menu has all the familiar Japanese staples and a selection of Tibetan dishes I hadn’t tried before. Now I’m curious to explore more.

Sushi pizza --a tuna and avocado seared sashimi, with a spring mix & mango salad.
• Spicy tuna and salmon avocado rolls
• Tonkatsu platter -- what looked like 3 & a half crispy, & flavorful cutlets, with a side cup of steamed white rice.
• Sha Bhakleb --Tibetan deep-fried beef/chicken patties-- think empanadas, and yeah, I'd come back just for these.
• Tonkatsu bento box -- typical bento: tonkatsu serving, steamed white rice, 4-piece California roll, deep fried Tibetan spring roll & deep fried veggie dumplings.

Service was five stars: warm, efficient, and clear about dietary restrictions. Bonus points for immediately bringing a big, ice-cold bottle of water to the table — little touches like that go a long way.

Food came out in about 15 minutes, perfectly plated, and tasted just as good as it looked. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious.

Bottom line, if you’re into great food, chill vibes, and mom-and-pop charm, Tibetan Japanese fits the bill. I’ll definitely be back — especially to try more from the Tibetan side of the menu.

Service was good, but the foods were not good at all. That was the first & last time. Ordered mango Lassi but it was salted & no mango flavor at all. 👎👎👎

I’ve been going to this restaurant for over two years, and it has truly become one of my favorite places to dine. I love the warm, inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home, and the food is consistently outstanding. Every dish is prepared with such care, and the unique flavors always leave me excited for what’s coming next. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making each visit a delight. One highlight of my experience is the Godzilla Roll, which I order every time—it’s a perfect blend of flavors and textures that never disappoints. Overall, the combination of exceptional food, a cozy ambiance, and top-notch service makes this restaurant a must-visit, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

* good price
* the chili chicken chow mein is one of those dishes i feel everyone would love. as a bonus, it comes in a hefty portion
* momo sizzler is a good option, but moreso because of the chili sauce
* sesame chicken was also good, but some may say the both the sauce & the chicken were overdone
* (not my cup of) butter tea tasted like ghee (clarified butter)
* coke can was served warm
