Urubamba Peruvian restaurant is located at the ❤️ of Jackson heights at 37th Ave. with 89th Street, ordered a beer, a huge steak with French fries. Friendly services offered.

Just the most awful experience I’ve had in a long time. Ordered delivery from here via uber eats and was contacted after the order was accepted that one of the items on the app was no longer available so I asked if they could cancel the order. I am well aware that they can cancel it but the person over the phone told me I should do it. I was then charged almost the entire cost of the food to cancel it. Keep in mind they didn’t even have one of those dishes available so how did they start preparing it? I contact the restaurant as Uber says they cannot do anything once the order has been accepted. The person over the phone tells me they never accepted the order and that no manager was there to hear my issue. I hope a manager contacts me to resolve this issue

I heard some good things about the Peruvian breakfast from this restaurant.
The last Saturday I got sick even tho I wanted to try caldo de gallina and a good classic Peruvian breakfast. As a Peruvian I wasn’t expecting same flavors like you can find in Peru.
So, I got the personal breakfast just for me. To be honest, it was delicious probably the sausage lil salty but everything amazing a good amount of breakfast which I think 2 people could eat. They do Peruvian coffee refill which is awesome.

The server heard me I was sick and he gave me a tea with lime, which I think was more than nice. I read the reviews but what I saw that morning with the restaurant almost packed I think the guys just got busy sometimes but they’re all are good vibes and nice environment with Peruvian music background.

Thanks a lot! I’ll go back for the caldo de gallina and ají de gallina! ☺️

I don’t know what has happened, but we used to love this place. However service is lackluster, no sense of urgency. What we thought would be a 1.5 hour dinner, took 3 hours. A can of soda is $4.50 and service tip is automatically added 20%. Not sure what happened to the regular waiter we love, but it’s not worth it anymore. A pitcher of sangria was also $40.

We had leche de tigre, lomo saltado, papa a la huancaina, anticuchos. Everything was very tasty. We tried the white sangria pitcher. It was enough for like 7-8 glasses. The place was very busy but the waiters were attentive.
The downside is that they didnt have any cocktails, and we're out of natural juices.

Food was good. The bill was tricky: it included mandatory 18% tip. This must not be allowed. Tip is the CLIENT only privilege. Don't let them shake you down.
Note: this was NOT the waiter's fault.

Early dinner get together with family a party of 6. The food was ok. Peruvian chicken didnt look appealing not the traditional Peruvian taste I'm used to eating. Ordered Paella, steak, chicken and salad. Food didn't have flavor but the ambiance was alright. Amenities were clean.

Red snapper (pargo) pretty small to competitors could be mistaken as Vermillion Snapper instead by thinner build, gets dry at bone.

Appetizers passable, does meat better but is fair.
