What a waste of time and money. It takes 5-10 minutes, literally, to take your order as the wait person needs to MANUALLY type in the order and requests into an iPad and then MANUALLY type in your credit card information!!!! And to top it off, they make you pay in advance with a 20% tip already checked off!! Tipping is BASED KN SERVICE, NOT a gift to take as you want…..What a ridiculous way to run a restaurant. Food is certainly not worth the wait or the effort it takes to put in an order. Just walk past it. You’ll be glad you did.

MD server did an excellent job, considering he had 7 full tables, running a bar with 5 persons, and had 6 tables sat at one time after mine, and no bus person.
People want a waiter, not a qr code.
His supervisor, Damario, sat on his butt watching this happen, waiter ran his butt off, and customers trying to get what they need repeatedly.
My food was lousy. If I wanted a microwaved burger and drink from a kiosk, I wouldn't have come to a sit down restaurant for 74$.
Manager needs removed. Waiter needs a raise.

Note: This “restaurant” has no menus and no waiters. You’re expected to put in your order yourself using your smartphone, by scanning a QR code, then manually typing in the items for the entire table, then giving away your personal info (including email and phone), and then they have the nerve to ask for tip, even though you did all the work besides the chefs, and even though you’re paying up front, before you’ve even received your food or anything. If you want a real restaurant, Jacob’s Pickles is the only one left in the JetBlue Terminal (5).

Be aware!! They make you pay at the beginning when you order and the server added their own tip (20%) and scroll past it to the bottom so you miss it.
$76 for the ribeye was ridiculous, the steak was decent but not cooked perfectly as I ordered.

Seated at a table and told we had to use QR code and place our own order. Their app allows only 16 characters for special requests which is not enough. Then defaults to 18% tip unless you change it for ordering your own food. However many tables seated after us, the waiter took their orders on his tablet. Anyway, the burgers we ordered medium came out as well done as you can make it. Flavorless and overcooked. And their wine prices are insane. $32 for a glass of average wine. Been here before but won't be back.

Service: -5 stars. I watched the table next to us go through three people because they all left as service is non existent.

We stayed but we kept on top of the “waitress” if that’s what you want to call her.

Food: might have been good, but the “chef” undercooked my filet (came out rare) so I sent it back. Then it came out well done. Not exactly medium like ordered.

QR codes: get rid of them. No one wants to order from a QR code when spending the kind of money you ask for.

Food is over priced and nasty. Worst food I’ve ever had in NY. Food should be more appealing and tasteful to be in an airport. FYI… you must pay for your meal first plus a 18% gratuity fee. Highly disappointed!

I rarely write reviews, but my experience at 5ive Steak was disappointing from start to finish.

First, before you even receive service or food, the server immediately takes your credit card and processes the charge along with a tip. How are you supposed to evaluate service or food quality before anything has even arrived? It sets the tone for a terrible customer experience. I paid $90 for a steak, with no sides and an ice tea.

I ordered a ribeye steak and the server specifically confirmed it would be cooked medium. When it came out, it was well-done, dry, overcooked, and nowhere near what I had requested. When I gave direct feedback that I was unhappy with the steak, the server made no effort to address the issue, replace the dish, or even acknowledge the mistake.

To make matters worse, once your card has already been charged, there’s no recourse for the poor food quality or the lack of service. You’re essentially locked into paying for a bad meal and tipping for service you never received.

Between the forced pre-payment, overcooked steak, and zero accountability from staff, I cannot recommend 5ive Steak.

Never returned a dish or written a bad review but this was apparently oatmeal and when asked to replace it they returned with another bowl of water. There was no oatmeal it was dirty water with bananas
