Fellow Foodies, beware! While I understand that many love the "Mom & Pop" feel of the local hole-in-the-wall eatery, I have absolutely no intention of ordering any food from this establishment. EVER! J&M Kelly's is a Jamaican & Caribbean restaurant, which caters to the largely Caribbean immigrant & 1G (first generation) population in South Jamaica, Queens (where it's located). Whenever any ethnic group is in large presence in a NYC neighborhood, there is higher likelihood of over-saturation within that particular ethnic group's food. Food: 2/5 The oxtails were not as flavorful as other restaurants I've tried. They were not seasoned enough & "falling-off-the-bone" tender. The macaroni and cheese was over-cooked, didn't have enough cheese, & had a thick, burned top layer of cheese. The side salad was basic & came with a tragically small dressing. Service: 3/5 The service was attentive and polite, but it was a to-go order (as I am sick right now). Crowded and the order was rushed along. (Please ask for utensils and napkins.) Parking: 2/5 street, in a largely residential area, along the Q111/113 bus route. Many houses have driveways, be very careful. There are better Jamaican restaurants along Guy Brewer Blvd. Overall experience: 2/5 Below are pictures of the oxtails, macaroni & cheese, and side salad.

I love this place! The food is consistently good. Once there was a misunderstanding over some soup, but the Chef heard my issue and made it right. I left with a smile because he saw my point of view! ?
