Horrible frozen food given. Food was at least a day old and tasted accordingly. Never order here again and save the frozen foods for Walmart.

Placed 4 items for out of state delivery. Package arrived on time. To my dismay, all packages arrived slightly cold. It was supposed to be frozen. Items were shipped via UPS normal delivery. Are you kidding me? Perishable items require special delivery. Two ice packages were melted. This is unhealthy and unacceptable. Food taste is less than average. I am extremely disappointed with the service quality I received from Sagar Restaurant. Obviously, I will never order in the future. NOT recommended if you are out of state to be shipped to your destination.

Went there for dinner, got a curry chicken dish (I don't remember the name) chicken was raw inside. Told the manager and he just said "ok, what else do you want?" Like forget an apology and the fact that the guest I took there was throwing up cause of the raw chicken taste in his mouth but the manager didn't care a cent. Shitty service but more importantly dangerous place to eat and get sick

I paid for 4 pieces of Kolija Shingara (Liver Samosa), but only received 3 pieces. And one of the Shingaras were snapped. The chicken fried rice was oily and the chicken pieces were hard to find.Hajji Biriyani and sweets are good though. Packaging was excellent.Edit: They promptly refunded for the Shingara

As one of Bangladesh's most well known chains, Sagar is relatively popular in this part of Hillside (Jamaica), which boasts one of the most concentrated desi communities in the borough. (#1) It's not exactly a destination but serves as a decent option for fans of the cuisine. If not for the name, this place could really pass for any of the restaurants along the avenue. There is almost little to no decor and the layout is super similar to many restaurants in Jackson Heights: display of food items in the front and sparse, booth-like seating in the back. It's not the most spacious spot, so I'd reserve dining here for small / intimate parties only.Food wise, they serve a number of classics, which include: kacchi biriyani, curry fish with a Bangladeshi carp, murog polao (#2), and a whole plethora of sweets. I do wish there was more emphasis on regional cuisines, such as Dhakalaya, but I find that the overall variety to be extremely neutral. I imagine the latter is by design, so anyone with specific dishes in mind aren't likely to find it here.Service has a tendency to be pushy, especially when there is a crowd which is more often than not. The place is already narrow and tight and parking is strictly street side. Folks looking for a solid dessert selection will find it here in the form of and large'ish galub jamun. _____________(#1) And all of NYC. (#2) Served only on the weekend - Friday + Saturday

The chicken roast here is the BEST. Seriously. There are other restaurants that make great roast but not on the level of greatness you get from here. The sweets from Sagar are amazing too. The rasmalai is perfection

Worst restaurant ever with worst service. Both chinese and the bengali ones are terrible! Menu is misleading. We ordered tandoori chicken and they gave us small chicken pieces that looked and tasted like nuggets

Chicken Lollipop - too much breading and not entirely sure if the chicken was cooked thoroughly. Not necessarily worth the price either, which is a shame because chicken lollipop generally is an appetizing dish to start off with. Beef Manchurian (Gravy) - bland tasting, needed more salt as well as underwhelming flavor. Chili Chicken - solid. Overall the experience at Sagar was subpar and underwhelming. We were only given one bowl of rice to split between two people for these two curries, and we were charged for water as well.

Excellent service. Food was delivered on time. The packaging was excellent. And the food was truly delicious. Try their hajir biriyani. You won't regret it.

We always hear so much about this chain of Bangladeshi food. Thought we should give it a try and was hoping to really have our minds blown. I mean, it was good, but not that great. There is no decor or ambiance to the place at all, just a hole in the wall. The staff was friendly and helpful though. We are used to experiencing the "rude/I don't care" attitude from many Bangali places, but the staff was legit nice here. We ordered a few items and some were okay or just plain bad. The goat curry had an awful smell to it, we couldn't even eat it. The veggies, samosa, bread and chicken were meh. I think the fish was the only winner, everyone seemed to only enjoy that the best. There wasn't really much else to say about the place, nothing exciting.
