I think it is the best place to go when you don't want to spend to much or have it delivered right to your door just leave the person some gasoline money 10-15 dollars.

Service was awesome, you only have 30min parking. So we took our food to go. But my favorite was the fried shimp

Finally made it here to try out the first Soulfood restaurant in City Island. I was greeted by the friendly hostess and placed a to go order. I tried the fish & shrimp with fries for $32 and had to try the Mac & cheese $8. The food was fresh and the potion was a good size. The Mac & cheese was freshly made and it was good. The food was well seasoned. I will definitely go again to try other items on the menu.

The young gentleman took our order and prepared the food. He was very amicable and cordial.

Visited from DC and was looking forward to support another black owned business. But this place (City island location) was an extreme disappointment from the time we entered with the I'm guessing manager (older lady) chilling on the stools right at the door with a little girl as if she was waiting for an order as a customer. No hello, how are you, welcome, a friendly smile or anything relating to any type of greeting. I'm guessing the teenager behind the counter picked up the same etiquette because she was looking at me as if I was supposed to be assisting her instead of vice versa. Anywho, 48 mins after placing my order (1 platter w/ Mac & greens, Buffalo wings, chic & fries & a lb of crab legs) and sitting watching the one cook in the kitchen move like a tortoise as she prepared and handed one order at a time to the young lady at the counter. I kept composure and just began a tik tok with my children to kill time. Finally got our food and sat in the little cubby of a dining area, opened the containers to an absolute disgusting and disappointing view of burned chicken tenders (mind you the menu never stated tenders, I was under the impression they were wings otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it), the fish was as thin as my fingernails, under developed & extremely rubbery, the shrimp were edible but certainly not jumbo as stated. Buffalo wings were cooked to the most well crisp as they could possibly be to the point that the sauce didn't even loosen the skin. The fries were the darkest brown potato I've ever seen and everything tasted as if they were cooked in the same pan/oil. Oh, the crab legs were over cooked and sticking to the shell to the point where I just gave up. Needless to say, the experience was a hideous one and nothing, and I mean NOTHING had an ounce of flavor to it AT ALL!!! The Mac tasted like they warmed up whatever was left over from the beginning of the week all the way up to Saturday and the greens were chopped as fine as parsley with not one dropping of salt, pepper or even a hint of any seasoning anywhere!!! I am so disgusted with this place, and the fact that this location is a grand opening, I can't imagine how....they need a grand closing ASAP! The only reason I gave a 2 star rating was because they were located a block up from Dunkin Donuts where I was able to at least satisfy my sweet tooth until I found another restaurant with the experience in the proper preparation of food. They do not deserve the name Seafood Kingz, the only thing they were royal with is the unsatisfactory service and fraudulent advertising.

There is nothing special about this place. The fish is undercooked and soggy, no seasoning, the Chicken is bready and tasteless.

I was disappointed with the lady who works there because someone got my order wrong after I arrived home I realized it was incorrect. I phoned the lady to explain to her and she asked me to take a picture than told me she would make me the missing item. I feel she should have taken the entire order back and replaced it with fresh food. Any other restaurant would have at least done this I brought the entire uneaten platter back ?

I was so very happy to come and support this black business but we have to do better. I wanted to go to the City Island location but took a chance on the Queens location because my mother doesn't live too far away from the restaurant. I'm so disappointed and I am hoping it was just a bad day. I ordered before I even saw the location and visually I would never gone in by the way the store looked. I stepped inside and was disgusted. There was only one lady working and my order wasnt ready after 25min but I didnt mind waiting....outside. I dont know if the place is kept in this manner or of they are closing this location. My ordered came to $92, I order the cat fish, shrimp, chicken, fries, fish, grilled shrimp, and veggies. Veggies had no seasoning, shrimp was ok, cat fish was over cooked and not seasoned as well as the chicken, fries and fried fish. I am very ?. When I go to City Island the only spot I went to was the Lobster house because I only got King Crab Legs. There are plenty of place in Queens and Brooklyn to get really great seafood. I wanted King Crab Legs and Seafood Kingz didnt have them. Maybe, strong maybe I will try the City Island location and see if this was just a bad day and the lady was overwhelmed because I really want to support.

The food wasnt bad. The collard greens and mac & cheese need more salt. The catfish was supposedly a big piece but wasnt. Staff was friendly, food took way too long to make. Especially during lunch time.

Honestly never got to taste the food. I was excited to try a highly rated, black owned business, but the service is terrible. I placed my order thinking my food was being prepared, then about 20 minutes later my order was cancelled. No reason given at all smh. Of course I had to wait 5-7 business days for a refund, even though it took seconds to charge my card. I will not be ordering from here again. I'll stick to seafood places with better service

The gentleman was nice, however, the menu is limited, I guess due to the nationwide good shortage. If you're looking for snow crab legs they are out and have been so since the middle of the summer. However, they have king crab legs, and for the price you get a decent amount of crab legs with corn and potato with 6 jumbo shrimp for $55. The frustrating part was their debit/credit card machine was down. Thank God my bank was across the street.

Food is good but portions have been downgraded with same pricing
