Tropical Isle Roti Shop and Bakery

Thank you is the least I can say to Tropical Isles to show my appreciation for all you’ve done for my daughter’s wedding. I’ve had 450 happy people who couldn’t stop talking about how great the food was, I must say I’m very happy to choose Tropical Isles to catered my wedding, from the 7 curry to the delicious sweets, one family member who describe it as a slam dunk, grand slam. I was very impressed with all the food prepared and served at the wedding venue in New Jersey, tropical isle went above and beyond to take the stress away from us and give us the time to celebrate our wedding with our guests. I will most definitely recommend tropical isle for any event big or small.

Well...Where should I start ??? This is my first time in this place so I was looking at the different options especially because there was absolutely NO MENU with pricing displayed anywhere 🚩. The restaurant was empty but yet the server got annoyed and impatient because I didn't know what I wanted. To be honest I didn't know what I was looking at or what it was called because again... nothing was labeled 🚩, and Ive never eaten this type of food before. I asked how much the medium plate was and she REFUSED to answer me🚩. So I asked again then she finally replied with an attitude that it depends on what I get (still no price given for anything)🚩. So... I ordered curry goat!! SHE asked if I wanted rice or roti? I said white rice because I ASSUMED that it was part of the meal🚩...then AGAIN ASKED for the price which she AGAIN refused to tell me and pointed to the cashier 🚩.(I SHOULD HAVE LEFT THEN)!!! She filled the majority of my plate with rice (which she didn't say was a extra fee). A little bit of peas and 1 potato. BUT....WHEN it got to the curry goat she LITERALLY played in my face with the food. She kept tapping each piece of meat (which I found odd🚩) instead of scooping it into the plate. TURNS around and gave me WELL DECORATED BONES ON PURPOSE 🚩‼ Not a single piece out of the 3 BIG HAND PICKED pieces contained any goat meat. I REPEAT..well decorated pieces of bone because I didn't realize until I started eating the food got to the meat and bit into gristle and bone. NOTHING EATABLE.!!! NOT to mention the surprise bill of $15.99 for the decoration (3 piece invisible goat meat)..= a medium plate. Plus $2 extra to have rice , not to mention tax = $19.59 🚩🚩🚩 NEVER AGAIN ‼ I don't know what would make her play in the food knowing it's ALL BONES, and look me in my face while putting this in my plate...knowing she's charging $20 for a medium is DISGUSTING AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! All that's EATABLE is rice and curry potatoes (medium plate) FOR $20???? It's a hurtful feeling to realize that I watched her do this ‼

So I placed an order today approximately an hour or I should say an hour and a half just for these people to send a wrong order.
Instead of potato balls they sent cassava balls. What if someone had an allergy to it?
Then there’s nothing else that could have been done to rectify my order. The person on the phone said when I go in to let whoever know and they will give me. I don’t have the time to go in nor do I know when I’ll go in. I don’t order from this place but I wanted to try their food.
Not refunded.
I paid for something and I expected to get what I paid for.
This is a no buy for me. To top it off, the tamarind sour is so liquid it can run off your plate and the bara was stiff with little to no taste.
Extremely disappointing. I would not buy from this place again.

This place is completely absurd when it comes to pricing, explain why am I paying $15 for a balanjay choke and single roti? Also illegal taxing on food items.
Always long wait times, staff is quite indifferent to questions.

Hi there! I ordered a few items from your website when you had free shipping. First off, your puri, roti, tamarind balls and Gulab jamoon was very delicious. I actually wanted to email your company privately because I think that you guys are doing something wonderful, but this was the only way of getting in contact with you. The egg balls, the mittai, cheese roll was definitely not it, we could not eat it because it tasted weird. Maybe somethings are not meant to be frozen? Keep testing out your products and see how best you can improve them. I’ll definitely continue ordering, especially your puri and roti. Thank you!

I live in South Georgia and I placed a order for some Kaiteur Restaurant chicken fried rice and lo-mein. I also ordered some Tennis roll, plat bread, fudge, black pudding, tamarind balls, egg balls, dhal puri and cheese. Everything came vacuum sealed and fresh. I give this place on a scale of one to ten a TEN, I will be ordering from them again. Everything was bussin sorry for the slang everything was tasty and omg I miss NYC they made NYC come to me in 2 days you cant get better than this I recommend Tropical Isle Roti Shop & Bakery, Natasha took care of my order great customer service skills. We ordered food from the website, and it exceeded our expectations. Everything arrived within two days, carefully packed with ice packs and an insulated bag to ensure freshness. Dalh Puri can use some more flavour, tastes like a roti not enough spices and salt my memory of dalh Puri was the smell and the flavour maybe it needs some curry but I can't imagine curry in a plastic bag I want to live longer!! 🧐 So I will have to make my own curry other its good !
