I love this place. Great baked goods and Guyanese snacks (tennis rolls and egg balls are ?), enjoyed the chowmein and Banga Mary fish curry, and my kids looooved the curry goat + roti (and dhal puri). The owner is so nice too. Definitely worth a stop in this neighborhood!

Placed an order for delivery to CT. Everything was perfect- all pastries were still fresh and delicious. It was packed well- didn’t seem to move at all in transit. This is a game changer for me since the drive to Queens for our baked goods is 2-3 hours! Thank you for this Tropical Isle! can’t wait to place my next order!Dietary restrictions: Love the gluten free options!!

Whenever I’m craving for doubles and I’m in Richmond Hill this is my go to place!! I ask them to make my doubles spicy, and they make it the best.If you never had doubles in Richmond Hill, you’re missing out ?

First time here and the food was phenomenal! I had chicken gizzard curry & it was the best. Service was great no complaints. Ambiance good however there's lots of homeless drunks inside of this beautiful establishment.

I placed an order for curry lamb and rice and there was only bones bones bones in the curry. There was no meat and they charge me $15 for a small bowl. It’s like a 4 inch bowl with rice and curry I spoke to the owner. I called and spoke to the owner and he said he can’t do anything about it, so what kind of business is that?

I love the food but the lady with the glasses makes the vibes feel weird. She never looks at you or acknowledges you even tho shes standing there doing nothing. Eventually after some awkward silence she calls someone else over to assist.

Not the best dhal puri I’ve ever had. Tips: dhal needs to be seasoned, distributed throughout the puri, and it needs to be oiled and cooked all around not just the middle.

I visited this West Indian restaurant on Saturday November 25th, 2023 at around 12:30pm. I purchased $239.00 worth of food and it was all worth it. I bought several bowls of the butter fish and it was delicious. It was freshly made which I liked. I also bought the chicken Chow mein which is to die for. I loved it. The chicken cookup was nice. I also bought the dhal pourie and it was delicious. The chicken fried rice was a bit spoiled. But it tasted great, wasn't a big deal. The boneless chicken stew was delicious as well as the vegetable fried rice. The server that fixed my bowls I believed her name was Ms. Angie, she was spectacular and amazing. All the other staffs were very professional and courteous. Restaurant is clean, and sanitary. I loved the location. Its very convenient right downstairs from the A train. I loved the casava ball fish cakes, and the regular fish cakes. The pone was everything to die for. It was amazingly tasty and delicious. The only take away was I believe the food needed a bit more salt/seasoning. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to everyone. I traveled from Chelsea Manhattan NYC to Liberty Ave for the tasty dishes. This restaurant undoubtedly gets 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and beyond. Keep up the great work. I will be back. ?Dietary restrictions: Vegetables available for purchase.Kid-friendliness: Sweets are available for kids

For typical good Guyanese food, just like they cook in Guyana. If you love spicy and Caribbean you'll love this place.

The pepperpot sandwich which was good but it was stingy on the meat for $10. The sponge cake was way too sweet. Doubles were ok. The chicken curry and dhal puri was good. The channa curry was very sweet, with no curry taste at all. They also have chicken patties, and a spicy version.
