Okay I’m a bit disappointed. I really wanted to like this place. I got tamale de elote it was dry and not that flavorful but it could be from corn that wasn’t that sweet to begin with. I got a tamale that was actually really good in flavor but the texture was gelatinous and needed less liquids or more time steaming. Now this place also selling pizza may make a lot of sense when it comes to the sauce on the chuchitos. It taste like canned tomatoe sauce which is fine but it needs something else and they put meat with bones inside which is disappointing to me because I got a chard of bone in my mouth. The pupusas have an off texture but that isn’t the issue it is the filling it is not a melt cheese it is a kind of crumbly one that doesn’t seem to go with the taste or concept of the pupusa I’ve had pupusas many times I have even made them myself and they have never tasted like this and not in a good way. Lastly the Jamaica, not the worst just watery but drinkable. I know many people say this place is authentic but I’m not sure that it is it just taste like a few short cuts. Again I really wanted to like this place as I wanted to be able to support a Guatemalan restaurant there are not many out there. But it was a bit disappointing.
I had a fantastic dining experience at La Luna de Xelajú on Parsons Boulevard! The food was absolutely delicious—every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavors and made with care. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
What made the experience even more special was the warm and attentive service from Zulma, the owner. She personally took care of our table, making sure we had everything we needed and offering great recommendations. Her hospitality made us feel right at home, adding a personal touch that’s rare to find.
If you’re looking for amazing food and top-notch service, this is definitely the place to go. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

Not going to bad mouth a place I never been in so I will leave it as three stars
It was a NO for me. The taste, presentation and prices were terrible. Not even my dog wanted to eat the food. The chicharron was soggy because they poured sauce on it to mask the stale taste. The pupusas had virtually nothing inside but the description claimed that it would have chicharrón, cheese and beans. The rellenitos had no beans inside and the dough had more flour than plantain and looked more white than ripe yellow. Overall, as a Guatemalan, the food was a extremely disappointing.
Be careful with this place. It is under investigation for having a person beaten for a complaint.
I went on vacation to NY from Florida, I was excited because it was December 24 to eat some tamales and when I tried the tamale I was disappointed because they used consommé instead of recado and I better ordered tortillas with chorizo and Naa they tasted horrible and my friend ordered pepian and nothing to do with the good pepian chapin. They definitely have to improve everything, even the old and dirty place. ??♂️??♂️

I don't like giving mad reviews, but it's the only reason truth. When I had come here after Church I was hungry, i had come in for pizza. While i was waiting, the pizza did NOT look fresh. And u had also saw a COCKROACH on the bread, not one but TWO.
