I just left the Deacons Bench after a truly bad experience. I used to love this place as a kid. And was excited to go back after returning to Johnson City. I ordered my food and waited 30+ minutes for an order of wings. After 25 minutes I was told a big To go order had delayed my food. This was irritating but I can live with it. My food was delivered and it was the wrong order. It didn't have fries. The server went to get my fries and I discovered that it wasnt even the correct flavor. I ordered garlic parm they brought buffalo. The server brought my correct order and told me that she would bring me a box and I could keep the other order as I had already handled them. She came back not 5 minutes later and picked them up without a word . I never saw them again. I now wish I had kept them as the wings I got were over cooked and flavorless. I ended up leaving 3 or 4 of my wings uneaten . The only things I enjoyed there were the beerbI had and the after dinner mint I grabbed on the way out. I will not be back. What a disappointment to have my childhood memories of great wings tarnished by tonight's experience

Johnson City's best wings and a lovely hometown pub. Staff are excellent and food comes out hot and quick, whether you're staying for the game or just popping in for an afternoon cocktail The Bench is a great spot to stop! Highly recommend

The Deacon's Bench is a local favorite for good reason, and their double-dipped wings are absolutely incredible. The hot sauce and garlic combo packs a flavorful punch without overwhelming the palate, and the wings themselves are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside—cooked to perfection every time. You can taste the care that goes into every batch. The laid-back, friendly vibe of the place makes it perfect for a casual night out, and the service is always fast and welcoming. If you're a wing lover, do yourself a favor and try them. These wings are seriously next-level amazing! I've been going there for many years.

Great local place to go with a nice crowd. Bartenders are friendly and outgoing, and the food is very good, and not very expensive.

It's a very chill local joint. Absolutely LOVE the Carolina gold wings here, and the fried green beans.

Always has been an awesome place for cold drinks and wings. One of those off the beaten path, small, local establishments that you hope are always around.

The food was good, bun and burger were a bit burnt for the burger, but the rest was delicious. Staff was very pleasant.

Kid-friendliness: There are a few kids items and separate dining area from the bar.
