If I could give them zero stars, I would, because I literally received zero service. I had my service dog with me and we sat outside on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at lunch time. I waited a very long time and eventually someone brought me a menu. Then, I waited and waited and waited. They served people next to me, behind me and to the other side of me, but somehow managed to just walk past me. After about a half hour total time, we just left. The waiter was a young white kid. He saw me. There was a Hispanic waitress. She saw me. There was a blond hostess. She saw me. It was unbelievable. If you are reading this, thinking that perhaps I am some street bum or an undesirable...no...I am a 69 year old man, clean, well-dressed and proper. It wasn't me. It was sheer insulting incompetence.

Popped in for a late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday afternoon and we had no problem getting a table inside with good air conditioning on a hot late spring day. We had a friendly and efficient waiter. Our appetizers which we shared, the tuna tartare, and the chicken quesadilla, were both excellent. Two of us had the cheeseburger and we both asked for it to be done medium rare and unfortunately they came out well done. Disappointing. We were all too hungry too complain and/or send them back so we ate them as they were delivered. One person had the corn beef Reuben, which he enjoyed. Forgot to take pictures of the menu or the interior of the restaurant, but they did have a list of milkshakes which were very tempting, but we were too full to indulge.

Over the weekend I visited Jay Street Bistro to meet my family for lunch. It was an excellent brunch that was served. I got the eggs and hash and it was delicious!

One of my favorite places ever. That cornbread French toast with their syrup is amazing. Their French fries are thin and salty. The environment, the town it’s in, the food, everything is so worth going

Unassuming restaurant but boy did they not disappoint! I started with a chai latte which was ummmmm good. Then, I had an egg sandwich which was so delicious and hubby had the pancakes which he shared with me and they are the best pancakes I have had in years! The service was friendly and attentive as well. I don't know why this spot is not in the top 3 in this area on Google search?? The locals must love it. Even though we live in Greenwich, WE WILL BE BACK!!

I recently stopped by Jay Street Bistro in Katonah for a quick bite and ordered the Lentil Bowl Salad. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the dish. The overwhelming amount of sunflower seeds and dry lentils made it feel more like bird food than a satisfying meal. Although the server offered additional dressing, the tahini-based option provided was excessively thick and did little to improve the salad’s dryness.

To enhance this dish, I suggest better balancing the ingredients, perhaps by mixing them more evenly and incorporating juicy elements like tomatoes. At $17, the salad felt overpriced, especially considering I could have purchased a bag of bird food for the same price.

I love a good small-scale breakfast place. This was a miss. We had breakfast there last week and most likely won't be back. The ambience is very cute but that's were it pretty much ends.
Coffee (watery and luke-warm at best) came without a spoon. Trying to get a server's attention proved difficult. We ended up having to get up and get our own spoon from the gaggle of servers milling around the server station. We also had a cappuccino which apparently comes with a fairly large dose of cinnamon - which was not listed. And without spoons, we couldn't take it off...
We had the Smoked Salmon Toast which was thick bread (nice), a thick slather of Horseradish cream cheese (emphasis on the horseradish), a slice of salmon and a good handful of capers. I love capers as much as the next person but they were definitely the main attraction on the toast.
The Egg Sandwich on the brioche was decent except for the way too crispy bacon. We also had the Stuffed Croissant - it's full of Nutella - so that was great.
We were not checked on after having gotten the food. We did comment on it when we got our bill and the response was tepid at best.
Overall, a bit disappointing - the menu looked good and could have been great. Maybe we got an off day...

Amazing!!!! It’s one of the few words to describe Jay Street Cafe. It’s such a wonderful place to dine at. That’s why we go often even though it’s bit of a drive for us. The ambiance is lovely, food is scrumptious with a great variety especially if you need gluten free options, prices are reasonable and the service is wonderful! The staff is friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and thoughtful. Jamie is exceptionally a fabulous employee who always makes us feel at home and welcomes us with his warm smile and kindness. You will not be disappointed, give them a try! :)
