About The Local Table & Tap

The Local Table & Tap is a popular spot in the area that stays open year-round. The atmosphere is great, with beautiful views, but the food and service can be inconsistent. One consistent issue is the drinking water, which has an unpleasant taste that worries some customers about the water's quality and safety.

Despite the water concerns, the restaurant offers a variety of tasty dishes, including delicious fish tacos and a juicy, well-prepared pork belly. The menu prices, however, may differ from the online menu, which can be disappointing. The service can also be hit or miss, with some customers experiencing quick and friendly service, while others encounter slow and less-than-pleasant interactions with the staff.

Overall, The Local Table & Tap provides a functional dining experience, with good food and a nice ambiance, but the inconsistencies in service and water quality may leave some customers feeling underwhelmed. The restaurant is a popular choice for those in the area, particularly for its great views and burgers, but it may not be a standout destination for all diners.

We went to Table & Tap in White Lake with our 6-month-old, and unfortunately it was not a great experience. My husband ordered a drink, and before he even had a sip it was knocked over. Nobody let us know we’d be charged for another one, and as parents of a baby, accidents like that can happen. I think it would have been good customer service to take the spilled drink off the bill.

On top of that, the French onion soup was watery and the onions tasted like paper. The...read full review

Besides the staff always friendly. The view on the lake is beautiful. I absolutely love the seafood arrabiata and goat cheese and beet salad. The seafood dish is organic pasta, spicy San marzano tomatoes, calamari, scallops and shrimp. The salad is fresh beets, goat cheese, bib lettuce and a vinaigrette dressing. Who would have guessed a pub on a lake in the Catskills would have a seafood pasta dish that could rival any top notch Italian restaurant anywhere in the world.

The atmosphere and service was good. The food was okay but pricey. I got the beef bowl $26, my husband got fish and chips $23. A small bowl of French onion soup was $10. Prices were on the high side for what we got. The craft beers we ordered were reasonably priced.
