I've never had "real" pierogies before (just the kind from the grocery store) and I was blown away. Helena Specialty Pierogies were amazing. We got some potato salad and cabbage salad as well, and both were delicious. The woman at the counter (I'm assuming it was Helena?) was extremely helpful and friendly, explaining all the ingredients and how to cook the pierogies once we got home. We have been coming to Helena's for 20+ years and have never been disappointed. They are just like my Polish wife's Grandmothers. We especially love the Farmers cheese, potato and cheddar, potato and onion and Blueberry. They are happy to accomodate large orders as long as you call in advance. They are indeed a Hudson Valley Treasure ....
We love the pierogies here, they are so good and so delicious. She is the best.they only use cash.so be prepared before get there.our favorite one is Garlic/Cheddar cheese/Onion/Jalapeno bacon.W look forward to try the other ones, and lot of different options on the menu ?.
