Dani's House of Pizza

During my visit yesterday, I had an interaction with a heavy set employee who insulted me in Spanish by calling me “demented.” There is no excuse for speaking to customers that way. Regardless of the circumstances, customers should be treated with basic respect.

If you’re a regular here you know who I’m speaking about. This is not the first time it’s happened either.

What makes this frustrating is that the rest of the staff have always been professional and respectful. You can tell they work hard and are simply trying to do their jobs. This review is not directed at them.

I’ve been a customer of Dani’s Pizza for a long time and have always spoken highly of this place, which makes this review especially disappointing.

If other customers have experienced similar treatment, I encourage them to share their experiences as well.

I only had a plain slice here, and while it isn't quite my style, it’s worth a try. I see why people like the pizza. The sauce is heavily applied and has loads of sugar in it, making it a bit too sweet for my taste. The cheese has that familiar, slightly plastic texture, but because it’s loaded with so much sauce and cheese, it's definitely a 'juicy' slice. My main critique is that the toppings weren't spread out enough to the edges, leaving the crust a bit dry. That said, the crust itself is decent. On the plus side, the staff was fast and friendly, and the vintage atmosphere looks really cool. I’d definitely go back to try some other items off the menu.

Gem of an old school pizza place! What makes it even better is that 1. It has a ridiculous and large cold beer selection fridge and 2. The pizza is absurdly amazing. Love that plain slice sauce has a touch of sweetness to it as when adding pepper flakes or hot honey makes this a perfect combo. 3. The pesto slice is unlike any other I’ve had and is a signature slice. 4. The prices are still civilized and not blown out of proportion like the hipster pizza joints in the city.

Worst slice of pizza I’ve had in a long time. Dirty place and rude staff. The person responding to bad reviews is also awful. Read his replies and you’ll see. Don’t support this guy.

not sure the pizza is worth the awful service. i had been ordering delivery from here for a while and always thought the pizza is great. this is why you should not meet your idols. service is a “no soup for you” approach with a “you are lucky to be here” twist. get your pizza somewhere else. Plus the guy who tended to us has a napoleon complex. Also super machista; asked to speak to male
for ordering. Terrible customer service!

Pizza is unlike the usual. Regular slices and the extra sauce have a sweet taste.
Pesto slice is rich in flavor, top tier. Adding sauce to both is a must, but definitely try without it first. Getting a seat can be difficult as its a very small space!

SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN❗️❗️❗️ I AM SUPRISED NO ONE GOT SICK YET. VERY UNSANITARY. This Pizza place is one of the best if not the best pizza place in the whole NYC. Perfect amount of cheese and sauce which makes it absolutely delicious 😋 😍. If you do not like it I owe you money but don't lie because its amazing. 🤣

Calling this Pizza is like calling Trump Jesus…

Update: I’m so happy to see that the dining room has reopened. It’s wonderful to be able to dine here again. The staff are kind and sincere, the place has a warm neighborhood charm, and the food feels honest and comforting. I love their signature sweet tomato sauce, both on the pizza and in their classic Italian-American dishes.

Best pie I had in NYC. Also the cannoli is to die for.
