This place had amazing food. Mashed potatoes were phenomenal. Prices were more than reasonable and is a really good value compared to Albany pricing. It's a great getaway from the city. I highly recommend!

I must say 3 of us had dinner at the Carolina House Sunday night , I and my guests all had the greatest meals of all time ! Now that may not seem like a big statement but believe me it is . We travel all over the country and eat at the best restaurants everywhere. So when I say the the best you know I know something about good food . Rarely have all 3 of us all enjoyed a meal to near this extent .the food and the service was top notch. We have eaten here before but not in many years .1998 was the last time and clearly it was no where near as great as Sunday night . We started with calamari , which was excellent and delicious we also had onion loaf. Which was well done and crisp as it should be. We whad the best fried chicken . If you even remotely like Real Southern Fried Chicken this is an absolute m ust have .served the way you'd expect with several choices for sides but the flavor I can still taste it . The cornbread was great and Hot . We had brownie sundays for dessert which was excellent as well.

Great food in an area of Columbia County that is somewhat thin on restaurants. The space is always decorated nicely and Mexican night (Thursdays) has wonderful $5 margaritas.

Ok...this is another restaurant my wife and I have been frequenting for years. The Carolina House can be excellent. We've had amazing meals and great times there. I say this over and over..."consistency is the mark of a great restaurant". I'm a bit frustrated because i know how good it can be but again, more frequently lately, the food has been just ok. Please understand...I'm not trashing this place. We will still keep trying and have no intensions of giving up on them. I mentioned this to the staff and they were very considerate and helpful. These reviews can be updated and I promise I will come back here, after a few more visits and update. There are nights when they are a solid 5. I want that place back again and i know some small improvements can get us there. Just to clarify...it's never been terrible but the history sets the bar. Like I've said...we've had some meals here to die for. We want that more consistently.

I love their salmon burgers and scallops on rosemary skewers! Always enjoy their seasonal cocktails, too. Great service, whether you sit down for dinner or post up at the bar. Never disappointed.
