Glad we stopped here on our way through town. Went for the coffee and vegan pastries (which they seemed out of) and ended up checking out the book selection, too. Very friendly and welcoming staff
Excellent selection of books; I encourage anyone who seeks neat vintage novels, essays, etc… to shop here. Owner was lovely and open to any conversation. There are some who might disagree with his political ideologies, but truly he was a pleasure to talk to, and if you want to expand your perspective on any of broad issues of the 21st century, give this place a visit.
My brothers and I got sidetracked riding on the Empire State trail from New Paltz and trying to find a good way into Kingston to have lunch and recharge. Just wanted to thank the young man at Blackbird who took the time to give directions for lunch spots and then the best way to ride back up out of the river valley and back to the trailhead. It all worked out great, we had a really nice lunch and then rode up into central Kingston without having to go straight uphill… much appreciated...
