Excellent seafood restaurant! A true Hudson Valley institution. Among the best seafood in the Valley, the food and service are consistently excellent!

We had the best time at dinner. The food was so fresh and tasty. The breading on the clams tasted so good. Everything we had tasted homemade and fresh. I can’t wait to go back again. I would go everyday if it were closer to me. I live in Albany.

We have had the opportunity to dine at the Bowery Dougout many times. It never disappoints. Probably the best seafood in the Hudson’s Valley. The restaurant was owned and operated by local resident Bruce’s Paley for many years and was sold several years ago to I believe a relative who was smart enough to not try and re invent the wheel keeping the place running basically the same as it had been.

I think it was August 16th. We had a big family get together for a baby shower. We ate downstairs, where it was dark and cool. The food was great the atmosphere was calming but most of all our server Beth was what made our trip special. Our server Beth was a quick-witted almost Roseanne Barr type of server, with a great attitude on life and makes one hell of a mojito!! I tried frog legs for my first time. I plan to go again the next time I'm in the Catskills to visit family. Next time I'll try the escargot and I definitely will be sitting in the basement with Beth!

Enjoyed a beautiful lunch at Bowery Dugout today. I was glad I made a reservation because, even at 1:30, business was hopping! There is nothing pretentious or affected about The Bowery Dugout. My guests and I felt welcome, cozy, and comfortable in the homey atmosphere.
We started with Escargot (tender and PERFECTLY prepared), and Coconut Crusted Shrimp Appetizer(beautifully fried and crispy, not greasy at all). For entrees we had Panko Crusted Swai with sauteed veg. (Delicious), Coconut Crusted Shrimp Entree, (my guest gave special preparation instructions to our server that were followed to a T !), two of us ordered the Hot Lobster Roll (which was CHOCK FULL of fresh lobster...BEST Lobster Roll I've ever had), and the Caesar Salad with Shrimp entree. Two of us also had French Onion Soup (Bowery KNOWS what they're doing!). For Dessert we had Tartufo( masterfully executed), NY Cheesecake, and Limoncello Mascarpone Cake (my favorite, haven't found it anyplace else)
Our server was friendly, attentive, and gave great suggestions. The order was served in a timely manner, everything was perfectly cooked and plated.
There are a couple other good restaurants in Kingston, but, The Bowery Dugout has stood the test of time for a reason! We loved every minute of our experience today!

Took 2 hours. Bad service or should I say lack of service. Wait time was extra long.... meal was ok, I've had better at a food truck. Restrooms were gross. I will NOT be back.
