I have a pretty insane poke bowl hyperfixation and First Capital Poke Bar is amazing every single time. I usually do a BYOB and it’s genuinely so delicious. My sister also has Celiac Disease and I highly suggest coming here if you can’t eat gluten, they categorize everything on their BYOB menu for that and there’s still many options for those who can’t eat gluten, which isn’t something you see a lot. I have a texture issue so I typically order crab sticks (not gf) instead of the chunks of fish. Not that the fish isn’t just as yummy but the texture really does bother me, if you have some similar issues i definitely would suggest trying the crab sticks or maybe shrimp tempura in your bowl if you can. I used to not be a huge poke fan because of the texture until I realized I could literally just change the protein and now I’m a fangirl.
For prices, poke in general is a more expensive meal, but i’d say First Capital Poke Bar is definitely worth it for the price. Looking from an outside perspective, $20+ for a bowl may seem expensive but for the quality and quantity I fully believe this is a well rounded price that is more than worth it to me! Especially as someone who has tried so many different poke restaurants, this is a very good place to visit and eat at!

I want to say that the food I've gotten here is really good and everything I've had is fresh. However, when doing a pickup order online, the BYOBs I ordered were missing ingredients (including some that cost extra), and many of the requested ingredients were confused between our two bowls. My partner's bowl was dry; it had no sauces/condiments at all despite him ordering two. At about $17 per poké bowl, it's disappointing...I don't think we'll do pickup orders here anymore.

The vegan bowl was delicious...it was sort of a tofu bibimbap. And the portion size was pretty substantial! Highly recommend.

Great food, beautiful combination of colors, tastes and flavors. The place itself needs a total redo with redoing the floors, walls and tables and chairs to attract the sit down traffic and not only the take outs.

I recently ordered some poke and takoyaki from here. First of all, they were both delicious. But beyond that, the presentation was beautiful for both. I’ve never seen a restaurant that cares so much, even when it comes to delivery

I wanted to like this place.
Popped in for the Grab and Go that was promoted to find they had none left, but they offered to make what I wanted fresh. Cool.
Was not informed of the “fresh” price hike until after I paid. Expected $7, was closer to $10.
Got home and ate the most bland Onigiri I’ve ever had. Hardly anything in it. Pricey bit of rice and seaweed.
Before I finished unwrapping the Musubi, I found a hair in it.
At least it was fresh, right?

To say that I love this place would be an understatement. You know how pregnant people will often order a sushi boat after they give birth since they can’t have raw fish while pregnant? Well, a Poke Bowl at Capital Poke is my sushi boat. I am currently pregnant and am praying the next 6 months go by as quickly as possible because one: pregnancy is no joke but two and more importantly: I can NOT wait for my post pregnancy Poke Bowl.
With that being said the non raw fish options are also top notch. I’ve been holding off on getting their pork buns because I know for a fact that as soon as one of those bad boys gets past my lips and do their little dance on my tongue it’ll be the only thing I will crave for the duration of my pregnancy.
I adore this place, everything about it. The dedication not only to their customers but especially to their craft is absolutely unmatched.
37/10 would recommend. Thank you for what you do.

My friend recommended the musubi and onigiri here, and I can wholeheartedly pass that recommendation along!! Of the varieties I tried, the spam and egg musubi was my favorite — think musubi breakfast sandwich vibes. Something about warm rice is just the most satisfying thing, and they make it to order so it’s v fresh!

Great spot for pickup or dine in. The onigiri is legit, my favorite is the Ume (pickled plum). I grabbed some ramen here when I wasn’t feeling well and it was the perfect elixir!

Items were either too salty or straight up bland. Tuna Poke bowl was not good at all.
