We came to get takeout for our anniversary and we were not disappointed! Mercedes and Team are so kind and generous and the food matched their energy - clearly made with love! We had the fish plate with 2 sides (Mac and cheese and coleslaw) the fried chicken plate with 2 sides (Mac and cheese and potato salad) and their dessert - coconut pineapple cake in a cup. All the food was excellent, especially the fried fish. Beautifully seasoned and prepared! Mac and cheese is very flavorful and cheesy. Both the salads were good and I look forward to trying more sides! The desserts were phenomenal and we even got to try the sweet potato cheesecake which is SUBLIME and some sweet potato cornbread which was heavenly! You can be sure we will be back again!

Maybe the best soul food I’ve ever had. Perfect ribs, incredibly flavorful collard greens and Mac and cheese, and magical sweet potato cornbread. Mercedes and her dad were so welcoming and sweet, and you could taste the home-cooking quality in every dish. Will for SURE be back!!!

I’m so glad my husband and I got off the highway and found this special place during our road trip. The owner Joe is so gracious and welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. And wow he’s an awesome cook. I had the shrimp and grits which were amazing. My husband had the equally tasty fried chicken with delicious sides. I highly recommend Good Eat’n and I hope to get back here myself on our next trip through the area!

On our road trip out east, we were going to stop at one of those sad rest stops for lunch but we found a gem in the city of Kingston. After reading all the reviews we decided to check out Good Eatin’ just off the highway. Go with the soul food dished out by Joe and team because it’s awesome. My wife and I had shrimp with cheesy grits, fried chicken, collard greens and Mac n cheese. Amazing. And Joe, his daughter and everyone we met were the nicest folks. They could’ve called it Good Eatin’’ and Good People.

First time visiting and I can't come up with enough superlatives to really explain how good everything was. Joe and his daughter Mercedes definitely cook with alot of love. I sampled a small portion of Joe's ribs and that's definitely what im having on my next visit. Yes I'll be going back again. The fried fish was phenomenal. Sides were amazing. Mac n Cheese is the real deal some of the best I've ever had. Honey Cornbread and Sweet potato Cornbread I can't stop smiling. Not to forget the best homemade Sweet Tea. I urge everyone to Go see & taste it all for yourselves. Carmen will take your order with a smile. Love this place. Feel good food from people who put love into every bite.

Can we please talk about how the Mac and cheese is just noodles with a little bit of Cheese?!? It was like the Mac and cheese I get in a public school. The chicken was good and so was the Yams but it definitely is nothing I would go back and pay $21 for. The shop was clean and the atmosphere was nice. Just not enough to go back and spend money for.

Everything I tried at Good Eat’n was seasoned and cooked perfectly — the wings, baked mac, and cornbread were all on point. Joe was friendly and accommodating, and the prices were very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit!
