She was engaged and collaborative from start to finish and even helped guide us on flavor combinations based on our feedback. Linda (Grounded catering) was an incredible pleasure to work with, and her food was top notch. Absolutely every piece of food on our menu that Linda so carefully helped us plan out was amazing; all of it was fresh, hot, and incredibly tasty. Linda answered any and all of our many questions along the way and despite having spanned THREE years our menu tasted as incredible as the first time we met with Linda (though be warned - sheâs regularly checking her email well past midnight!! :) )
All of the staff Linda brought to the event were incredibly kind, professional, and handled even our most rambunctious guests with aplomb. The wait staff and bartenders were incredible help, and i cannot think of a way that their service could have been better.
My only regret having gone with Linda (Grounded) is that because sheâs in the catering business and not restaurant, we canât stop by every week for another taste of some of the incredible food Linda made possible for us on a very special night. Canât recommend enough!

Linda was really flexible with us as we worked together to plan our menu. I have family members who are vegan and her crew was more than willing to serve "cheese on the side" dishes! The attention to detail was next level.
On the day of our wedding, we had to make some last minute changes due to rain and we were a bit distracted with that (we chose a very DIY style weekend) and all of a sudden, I was like, OMG! Are the caterers here?!
Linda's crew was so professional and seamless that I didn't even have to think about it because they showed up, set up, and got everything together without bothering me or my wife. What a miracle.
Last thing I'll say is that I've never seen a more beautiful wedding cake in my life.

Grounded has a special "ground to table" orientation, as the chef often includes ingredients from her (or your!) garden and grounds, including beautiful edible flowers. I had reached out to three different groups as options for the event, and after this experience there was no contest that Linda's genuine excitement and creativity for showcasing quality and local ingredients (plus warm and amazing personality overall) was going to be a perfect fit.
Linda not only delivered on what we planned but exceeded expectations by adding some just-foraged (that day!) fabulously fresh ingredients in a delightful bonus preparation. The proteins were perfectly executed, and I basically could not stop eating every single vegetable preparation -- the way these elements shined really showed what local is all about. The Grounded team did an incredible job catering our wedding! We got countless compliments on the food, everyone saying it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The staff was incredible and went above and beyond for us, saving apps for us, making sure we were getting enough to eat, even wrapping up a plate of food for my Grandmother who had to leave early. We felt so well cared for, they really helped our entire day go off without a hitch! Chef Linda is doing gods work!

Then we basically gave them a tent on the flat side of a hill to cook in, so further kudos for Lindaâs detail and high quality to be maintained in our DIY scenario. There are some people in the food industry who just care a bit more about real food, and Linda is one of those people. Her overall approach and demeanor, and the devotion that she puts into her work is rare and special. We also made the wise choice to hire Danielle (who was our administrative contact) as our day of coordinator, which not only saved us money (and stress) in lieu of a third party, but just made the whole event feel cohesive. Danielle went above and beyond as we (somehow) squeezed our fully outdoor wedding in between heavy rains. By the day of the wedding it felt like we were all on one team, which gave us a lot of confidence with so many things going on. Their attention to quality and detail without all of the negative trappings of the âusual catererâ was refreshing as was the commitment to natural ingredients and local produce. The tasting was so impressive, more like a fine dining experience, and the maintenance of that quality from the tasting at Lindaâs cafe, to our outdoor cook-tent was a reflection on good staff and their operational stability. Guests loved the brisket and the Coq au Vin (a wedding needs chicken but this isnât wedding chicken). Could tell you more but if you book them youâll find out in your own way because Linda and Danielle take the time to get to know you on a personal level and they use it to make the experience memorable.

This was my second time working with Grounded...and there is a reason we came back to them! They are leaders in what they do! Some of the most DELICIOUS catered food I've ever had. The first time I worked with Grounded was for my wedding in 2021 where they executed a delicious menu for 150 people. This second time working with them was for a group of 20 people for a catered pool party. Linda and the Grounded team put together an excellent, well-rounded menu, featuring seasonal ingredients. The on-site staff were friendly and attentive. They will forever be out go-to caterer in the Hudson Valley area. No need to think further Linda and the Grounded team are the ones you want to hire! You will not be disappointed!

We got married two weeks ago at Windrift Hall and had Grounded NY cater and also provide cakes. Working with Grounded (Danielle and Linda) was a dream. They were both so fun to work with, great with all of the communication and organization and fully committed to making sure we had the wedding of our dreams.From the tasting to the wedding-day execution, it was such a pleasant and stress-free experience. High quality, locally sourced seasonal food was one of the most important elements of our wedding vision and Grounded definitely came through.We had sooo many rave reviews about the food and desserts from our guests (especially the duck -- wow!!). It all came together exactly as we hoped. Grounded even helped us procure the natural wine package that we really wanted. Highly recommend using Grounded for your upstate wedding or special event.
