Going to the Kingston Meat Market yesterday, was wonderful! The store was clean. That's major for me. If a store, especially a meat market, is dirty & smelly? I turn right around & walk out the door. They had a great array of goods & I loved the decor. The fruits, vegetables, produce, & fish were fresh and looked very edible. In the rear of the store is the meat. The men back there are great people. I danced (a likkle bounce), they danced, we laughed and had fun. Awesome guys! They're friendly, pleasant, and joyful. But what caught my eye, was that their meat was fresh, well displayed, and CLEAN. My older sister loved it! I believe she bought a big amount of goatmeat - she's been craving it since Florida, chicken etc.I strongly believe in supporting our local businesses, for what would our communities be without them? Kingston Meat Market is a gem. My sister & I found out Jamaican/Caribbean foods there too. Kingston Meat Market, you just gained 2 loyal customers. Muchos gracias mi amigos!!!P.S. My leg started to hurt so badly, that I forgot to take a picture of the front of the store. No worries, we'll be regulars.

Under rated store. Let’s just say I don’t order my meat from here though

Market is great. Lots of authentic products. The small restaurant inside is also great. Very authentic - you know it's good when you see lots of amigos eating there!

Excellent! The market side is a Hispanic Brooklyn bodega times 3; isles and isles of authentic canned goods, spices, peppers, produce, etc. But the real gem here is the small seating area and hot food bar tucked to the right of the entrance. $4.50 or $8.50 plates (based on the plate size). Beef stew over rice and beans, baked plantains, half an avocado, and a basket of chips with green sauce and avocado salsa for $8.50. All while watching La Rosa de Guadalupe on a ceiling mounted television. Friendly service too.

A large well stocked Hispanic market with groceries, produce, canned goods, meat, chicken, herbs, spices, fish, pastries, and an authentic restaurant in the back. At the restaurant, dishes like oxtail stew (Rabo), chicken in sauce, pork chops, beef stew, plantains, pork cracklings (chicharrones), are usually available. The setup allow one to see the food up close before making one's choice. Rice and beans for sides. Prices are low. Food is always delicious, if basic, fare. The house made hot sauce is really special. Definitely one of the cheapest and best places is town to get a hearty meal.

Great food, little cost! This little restaurant is tucked in the back of a market, however it only adds to the authenticity of the restaurant. The trio of salsas served with chips to start your meal are amazing! Some of the best mexican north of the border I've ever had!

Before going to a show one night at UPAC, which is right next door, a friend brought me into this place for tacos. From the outside, it looks like your average Hispanic grocery store. You know, the sort of place that you would never go into if you're not Hispanic and/or shopping for specific ethnic items. However, if you go into the back right corner of the store (follow the yellow walls along the coolers all the way to the back) you'll find a small and not-very-fancy restaurant area. They make the best authentic Mexican tacos that I've found in Kingston. Delicious, cheap ($2.50 each) and freshly made to order. They make other Mexican food back there too but all I've ever gotten are the tacos. This is a hidden gem but they deserve a little more traffic. Don't expect a hip or fancy atmosphere AT ALL... but do expect very good authentic Mexican tacos!
