DO NOT DINE HERE IF YOU EAT A VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN DIET.

I ate here twice. The first experience wasn’t so bad. I do eat vegetarian/vegan food so i was really thrilled when I saw that they severed vegan options on a vegan menu.

However, the second time was the worst experience I’ve had when dining in for food. We ordered three dishes off the vegan menu (yes they have a separate menu for meat eaters and non meat eaters). We got “chicken” fried rice, “chicken” curry, and a hot “beef stew”. For those of you who don’t know what fake/vegan meat look like, it’s just very spongy looking and is made of soy protein (the flavor is also pretty bland). When they brought out our meals (it felt like a fast food restaurant since it came out in 8-10 minutes), they brought out a vegetable hot stew instead and when we pointed it out they went back and bought it out with “beef”. After serving ourselves the stew. Something on my plate looked off, it didn’t look like any fake meat or tofu skin. It didn’t look like a piece of cabbage. IT WAS A PIECE OF PORK BELLY.

When we pointed it out the to staff they took the plate black to the kitchen and told us it was a piece of soy chicken. They tired to act stupid about it and didn’t want to stand by the fact that they served us meat on a vegan meal. Then they asked us what we wanted then do to about the whole situation.

I advise if you are vegan, vegetarian, or are allergic DONT come here. They will serve you meat.

I wish I could give this place a negative star, but since that’s not an option, I have to settle for one. The food isn’t bad, which is why I returned, but that was a mistake. While they advertise vegan options, I urge fellow vegans to be cautious.

During my visit, we ordered three vegan dishes: fried rice, curry, and a stew. They initially mixed up one dish, but corrected it quickly. However, everything changed when we tried the vegan beef stew—there was a piece of bacon or pork belly in it. When we pointed this out, the waitress took it to the back and returned with what she claimed was vegan chicken, but it was clearly bacon intended for hot pots.

There was a frustrating back-and-forth, and despite our clear dietary restrictions, the staff seemed dismissive. They eventually removed the charge for the dish but failed to acknowledge the seriousness of the mistake. If they can't manage food handling with care, I worry about how they would treat someone with allergies.

For a restaurant that claims to be vegan-friendly with a dedicated menu, their practices raise concerns about cross-contamination. I won’t be returning and would advise others to choose from the many other vegan and vegetarian options available. Save yourself the hassle.

.

Stumbled upon this place when the family was upstate for a weekend and it was already 8:30p- not much open and we thought this was only a hotpot place. We noted they had a veg/vegan option or two and thought- ok better than other options at the moment.

Located in a strip mall, the parking lot in front of this place had one car, yes just one. Uh oh. As we walked in, we were shocked at the sheer size of the place- dozens upon dozens of booths and tables. Our host asked which menu- to which we guessed and clumsily said “Vegetarian or Vegan?”

They had one, and oh boy were we pleasantly surprised! Rows and rows of all vegetarian and vegan options. This place had potential by the menu alone. We ended up ordering spring rolls, veg drumsticks, home style tofu, general’s tofu and Mongolian veg beef along with veg fried rice.

When I tell you this food came out fast, I mean DC comics Flash fast (the tv show version- which we all know is the better Flash anyway)!

Spring Rolls- standard fare hard to mess these up

Veg Drumsticks - generous portion with 5! Perfect crisp on the outside with chewy and lightly salty inside- served with a sweet dipping sauce

Home Style Tofu - tons of fresh veggies- zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, cabbage, broccoli.

General’s Tofu- I want to back right now and order a few of these. Super crunchy tofu with a lightly sweet/savory sauce- perfect ratio!

Mongolian Veg Beef- loaded with onions but do not be deterred the flavor was enhanced by them and seasoning was just right

Veg fried rice - executed well, just wish it had a slight more salt- easily overlooked with all the other great dishes!

My guess is the empty place on a Friday night means they do a lot of carry out or delivery business. Our dine-in experience was great- kind servers and quick rollout of food!

Wish we had these types of spots near us in NJ

Been ordering takeout from this place for 5+ years and their quality has seriously declined over the past year or so. The prices have gone up and the food has gotten much worse. It's not really worth ordering from there anymore, sadly. Feels like nobody there cares anymore about what goes out.
