Was visit Kingston and Google’s donuts. Found the Anchor and thought we would give it a try. Donuts were amazing. Gentleman at the counter was super friendly. It’s a hole is the wall with the best donuts. Give it a try.

I toured the country with a band for two years. The Anchor not only had some of the best food I've found in the country, but also some of the nicest staff ever. Wholeheartedly recommend.

The donuts and sandwiches are fantastic, and the owner is such a sweet person. I haven’t been to any place nearly as cozy in the area. Highly recommended!

I used to like the Anchor pre-pandemic. During the pandemic, I ordered food from them for take out - their food does not travel well and everything would get cold and rubbery - but I wanted to show my support. Then when they reopened the patio I took two friends and we ate outside - we were bombarded by wasps. We complained, but the wait staff gave us some idiotic reason why they couldn't deploy wasp traps. They got downright nasty! I'm not sure which was worse, the staff or the wasps. The Anchor used to be a good place but their quality and service have gone WAY south. No thanks.

The food was delicious, beer selection was very good. Then when the bill came, I noticed the beers we had ordered, which were listed as $8 for an 8 oz glass, were charged as $11 each on the bill. I brought it up to the server, who seemed a bit more defensive than apologetic about what I had thought was an honest mistake on their end. She said something like “well I don’t have anything to do with pricing,” reprinted the ticket with the adjusted amount but didn’t apologize or anything. Not a huge deal, hence why I’m not lambasting the business, but just beware of marked up drinks and double check your bill!

this was one of my favorite spots to eat. within last few months the quality of food they are sending out has gone down tremendously. burnt dry chicken, greasy mac and cheese, cold fries…the quality is not worth the price. it seems like they are resting on the brand that was built before the owner stated she was selling. the food tastes like they gave up.

The good:We ordered takeout over the phone and the food was ready promptly. I thoroughly enjoyed the Cheezey Breezey (pictured) and the sweet potato fries!!The meh:We also ordered the chicken and waffles - which is never really as good when the fried chicken is chicken tenders instead of thighs/drumsticks. We also attempted to order online and it was almost exclusively the donuts and not their actual menu.Overall; I’d give it a 4.7!

Great food- burgers & proper fish & chips. Casual place to enjoy burgers & bar food. Wine menu is minimal- but it's much more beer & burgers

i hate to say in the past month or so the quality of the food has gone down. i used to LOVE their sandwiches and fries. the past three orders my chicken/burger was burnt and my fries were soaked in grease AND soft. I am so sad that I may have to find another regular spot to order burgers

We ordered takeout and greatly enjoyed that they had a pickup window and a no mask, no service sign at the window. This made our pickup feel nice and safe despite COVID. The restaurant itself is located right off of a traffic circle, so finding and getting to parking for pickup is a bit tricky; you definitely need to watch your turns carefully here. We ordered butternut squash bisque, a Cobb salad, and garlic truffle pierogies. The bisque was warm and hearty, with awesome flavor. The salad was fresh and tasty with good fresh lettuce. Pierogies were well-seasoned and heaped with bacon, rich and delicious; at $3+ each, they were definitely pricey, but the taste eased the pain to the wallet. We also got donuts since they still had some left for the day and they saved us a trip elsewhere for dessert. We got a cider glazed, caramel delight, chocolate glazed, and strawberry glazed. The cider glazed donut had a great depth of flavor. It had a cider glaze layered with cinnamony streusel and is probably one of the best cider donuts we've found anywhere. The caramel delight had an overwhelming flavor of chocolate but was otherwise good. The coconut provides a good texture and they gooey caramel is delicious as expected. The double chocolate cake was a cake donut with a smooth super-chocolate flavor. It was a good consistency and it had fun ghost sprinkles. The strawberry glazed was a cake donut with nice lemon cookie crumbles (although it could use more), but the glaze is probably the richest strawberry glaze encountered anywhere. It was full of flavor and was definitely a winner. Overall, things were a little pricey, but high quality and very tasty. We would have liked to have tried their touted burgers and a few other menu items, so we’ll just have to go back for another visit.

My family and I were super excited that the Anchor is serving food in now. We used to come here all the time before the pandemic and had to make do with takeout. Food was great and it was wonderful to see the friendly staff!

I came to Anchor on 3/16 to purchase corn beef sandwiches for a couple I work for. For 2 sandwiches it was $30, I said good corn beef, it will be worth it!!! Terrible corn beef!!! Chewy and tough, my friends ask me not to go back to them, I was mortified, always ❤️❤️❤️ the food at the Anchor…. Both sandwiches went in garbage disposal ?

Lovely bar with quiet atmosphere and nice private booths. Food is heavy by design, but excellent. Nice selection of local (and beyond) beers.
