A bowl of good, warm chili after a long, cold day was just what I needed, and they delivered.
Unfortunately, there isn't anywhere to hide from strong winds.

Disappointed. My wife and I had dinner here three years ago and it was amazing. I was excited to bring my dad and son as part of our generational trip upstate for some great hikes. We arrived and couldn't find the restaurant. It moved from the old building to an open air space. We walked up and weren't greeted. There was a woman sitting on her laptop. She refused to acknowledge our existence, so we walked to the kitchen, which was empty btw. Someone eventually walked out and sat us at a table. It was cold and awkward. There was literally no one in the kitchen and two people sitting at a table that we eventually realized were employees. The vibe was BAD. We got up an left. I felt so dumb for hyping this place up. We had to scramble and find a resy somewhere else with zero cell service.
Amazing views, ambiance, decor and food. The service leaves much to be desired. The bartender gave us a complimentary drink because he made the cocktail we ordered and it sat for 20 minutes. Server never went to get it. So bartender delivered it to us. Also, once we were done the server did not drop the bill. We had to pay at the bar. But, we will definitely return despite the service issue.
Beautiful Place. Food, Drinks and Service were all poor. Was really looking forward to the experience and was sadly disappointed.
Beautiful scenic lunch on the water. Loved the view. Really peaceful and felt like I was truly at a resort on vacation! As for the food, it was tasty. Really enjoyed the cauliflower app and trout entree.

Awful service. Because we requested “separate checks for two couples” our meals came 20 minutes apart! Sunday brunch is no longer a thing. They serve “dinner” all day long. You think they would have mentioned this when they threw down the dinner meets at 1:15. Overall, very dissatisfied. Food just average. Don't think we'll be going back again
Everything was great overall, very lovely atmosphere, we were happy to have found River Pavilion. The service was a bit shaky as it took a long time for anyone to come to our table at first. The food and drinks were great. The music was a real dent on the scene, like silly bad adolescent pop, and did not match the grown-up atmosphere of the restaurant.
My boyfriend and I spent the day apple picking and had such a great time here for dinner at sunset. The view of the water was amazing, changing colors as the sun set. And the food was fantastic. We had the crab cakes, lobster roll, and trout. The service was great, and the ambience was soothing and peaceful. Lots of couples, some dogs, an all around great atmosphere. Would go back again.
Amazing setting. Food is good. However, our appetizer didn't come and there was confusion when asked. They ended up bringing it at the end of the meal, and comping it, which was nice. The table next to us left after waiting over an hour for a pizza that never came. A shame because it could be really great if managed better.

It’s the kind of place where you want to linger and enjoy the incredible views and relaxed ambiance of the indoor/outdoor dining space. I was with a party of 10. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and a beautiful presentation. The food was good, albeit a little underwhelming. My margherita pizza was cold and rubbery when it was brought out. It still tasted good though. We ordered nearly every app for the table and they were very tasty so I would definitely return and give them a second chance for the pizza improvement 🙂

Right on the river, open dining, great service and food. I do think if you are considering a visit here for a meal, go online and check out the menu. They also have these tiny houses that are available for rent. The NYS rail trail runs along the river right behind them. The trail ends at the sojourner truth park in East kingston. What a beautiful trail. Right along side the river, beautiful pavilion, picnic tables, spotless clean, potties available along the trail and this park is under construction. You should Google it and check out the new plan for it. Gonna be even more amazing. Gotta check this out. Love being by our beautiful river with beautiful trails, there are three by the way when you start at the park, plenty of parking, stations set up explaining what that entire area was about and is gonna be. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I never write bad reviews, but in this case I tried to call the restaurant to comment 3 times, with no luck, so here goes… Went here for lunch yesterday for my wife’s birthday. I’ve seen this place before, it’s a beautiful spot and a beautiful restaurant, right on the water. But, the service and the food were terrible. The waitress wasn’t sure what seltzer water was. It took 45 minutes to get our food, but there were only 5 people, including us, in the whole place. My $24 fish and chips consisted of 3 small pieces of dry fish, some fries, and a ramekin of ketchup, on a plain white plate. When I went over to the kitchen to ask for some tartar sauce for my fish, they seemed like they had never heard of this before. It was basically inedible, and certainly not worth $24, especially if it can be bested by a fish sandwich from McD’s. The heating towers all had their doors flapping open, so we got up and closed ours on our own. When my wife needed a glass for her seltzer (it came with no glass, perhaps because the waitress wasn’t sure what it was) we had to get one from another table, as no one appeared for at least 10 minutes…Very sad for such a beautiful spot to be so poor in service and food. Please try harder, I really want to come back!

This restaurant is fabulous! My family and I went on a Wednesday evening when they had a live jazz band playing, with the sun setting over the Hudson. It made for an amazing experience. Maddie was our waitress and she was so attentive and friendly! We had a great time chatting with her and left feeling so taken care of. Glen, who is director of operations, was informative and friendly, and showed so much personal interest. Remi too was a great hostess and told us about the cool history of the property. The food was phenomenal! We got the crab cakes, the muscles, burger, & chowder. We will be back again very soon!
