Adirondack Alps Restaurant at the Lake Clear Lodge

My boyfriend took me here for a special birthday dinner, and I have to say that it was incredibly special! This family owned lodge and restaurant is much more than a place to eat; it’s a dining experience! You are greeted with warm and homey decor, and we got to have a speakeasy experience with a password that unlocks a secret entrance! How fun! We were then led to a downstairs room with a rich history and crackling fire, where we enjoyed some lovely drinks and conversation with other patrons. Upstairs was for the main dinner course. The food was authentic German style, very tasty and warmed us right up on a chilly autumn night. The staff were incredible. This is a family-owned and operated establishment, and it is very apparent that this family puts so much love and effort into their events. They are a kind and friendly bunch who go the extra mile to provide a special hospitality experience. My boyfriend and I are already planning another trip to the area, and this time are going to stay at the lodge!

Absolutely fantastic. Wonderful ambiance, wonderful service, wonderful food and drink. Everyone there went above and beyond. First time there but will absolutely be back!

Dinner with one drink each was $125 (no appetizer or dessert included). Way too much for a meal that at best mediocre. Rice wasn't cooked, duck was dry. Atmosphere was nice, but not worth the money.

Absolutely wonderful hosts and delicious food - will be back again

We called to make reservations and were told that the restaurant could only accept 30 people due to Covid. We had to provide the restaurant with a credit card to hold our spot - 7 for dinner. The menu for Saturday was German food (apparently they spend the whole day preparing for this meal) - $40 per person. They also offered a beer tasting session for $20 per person. We arrived super excited to eat our authentic German meal and taste some beers. The beer tasting was was the most memorable part of our evening. For the main meal we were given a choice of a few German dishes - no appetizers and no dessert apparently this was not part of the price fix menu. We ordered 3 appetizers which we shared. The herring and artichokes both tasted as though they came from a jar and served with a side of ritz crackers (RITZ CRACKERS????). The third appetizer - sausage was also quite unimpressive. Our main meals were served with a tiny lettuce and chopped tomato salad. The rest of the food was either dry, soggy or very sour. I'm sorry to say that all sense of German heritage has been lost at this restaurant. I've traveled to Germany and tasted real German food - this meal with Ritz crackers was NOT authentic. Let me also remind you how much we paid for a sub-par meal. Bottom line - this is a little tourist trap, with overpriced food and served by a family who has lost all sense of their German heritage.

Always a great time here. Amazing selection of beer and wine and food is absolutely delicious. Will not disappoint.

We absolutely love it here! The owners are wonderful people. The food at the restaurant is delicious and leaves you craving for more! The property and cabins are beautiful and well maintained! It is a great place to unplug and get away from it all!

Such a very beautiful place to "get away from it all" especially now during these crazy times we are all living in. Me and my fiance spent two nights there this weekend. Great staff that really makes you "feel at home."

Great red cabbage. beer and wine The best German food, worst's, snitxles, spatzel small game duck trout.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Lake Clear Lodge & Retreat. Perfect location to "un plug" and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Snow shoeing, cross country skiing and hiking opportunities amazing. Also the speakeasy and sleighride were highlights of our visit. Hosts are lovely, engaging people and we enjoyed their hospitality immensely. Highly recommend!

This property is a big piece of heaven on earth. If you ever truly seek a unique, quiet, family friendly and beautiful spot., look no further. They are off the beaten path of traditional getaways. It’s an experience that will stay with you forever. Cabins are lovely, the sleigh ride and speak easy dinner is fantastic. If you love cross country skiing, this is a wonderful place for it with gorgeous trails.

We are from the NYC area and love coming north to enjoy the outdoors. Lake Clear Lodge delivers the outdoors and then some. We stayed in the Writers Cabin and it was absolutely beautiful. The food was unbelievable & the service even better. The horse drawn sleigh ride was dreamy! The proprietors Kathy and Ernest make everything so wonderful, a full step above other privately owned B&B’s and lodges! I totally recommend...

A really great place to unwind and enjoy life, again. Great facilities and wonderful, caring people who run it. Fantastic food! We will definitely be returning again, next winter.
