I love Generations' weekend brunch and their dinner.
In the summer, you can sit on their outside patio and enjoy your food. They have plenty of umbrellas to block the sun too.
I love their drinks, eggs, French toast and omelettes here. I also love coming here for their dinner specials.
This place is conveniently located near the lake and in the village. You can easily get here from a lot of the hotels in the village.
I can't wait to stop back here again soon.
We ordered a house salad and bills mafia beef on weck-ish. The beef on the sandwich wasn’t high quality but overall we enjoyed the food. Salad was decent size for a side salad and the blue cheese dressing was good. We ordered a side of garlic aioli for our fries which was an excellent compliment.
We asked to be seated outside on the side of the building, which only had a few people out there, however the hostess said she couldn’t because they had people coming for the tables. Tables stayed empty during our entire dinner, someone aggravating because we really would have liked to eat out there.
Server was nice but service was rather slow.
Me and my wife always stay at the golden arrow when we visit lake placid and generations tap is always our go to for drinks and appetizers we always have a blast
Excellent apps. Perfect for a mid afternoon snack & beverage!
Our favorite place to dine on the LP strip
A decent Zinfandel and an outstanding 'German' Shepherd's Pie -- try it.
Pretty nice place. Went for breakfast. Good value.
We were visiting the falls gorge waterfall and wanted a late lunch, this place had good curb appeal and we chose to sit on the street side outside tables. They did help us right way with water and menus, no delay in ordering either. The place honestly was dead. The Reuben’s had great corned beef slices just dry, the sauce was skimpy too but flavor was all there. Just wish it was more. Tallow fries were something we were excited about…they were the extra breaded/coated type steak fries and were cold and dry. Our waiter never returned to check on ask how our meals were and then when I was looking around for him, the hostess staff ignored my cues for assistance. No waiter until he was offering boxes and the check. Our daughter had the braised short rib tacos on the starter menu which was very tasty. Poor service unfortunately and when I did inform the server of our issue with the fries he just said “I’ll let the chef know”. That’s not really how to get repeat business or good reviews.
We have been to Generations many times, consider ourselves locals! We live in Queensbury, NY, so we're able to get there 2 to 3 times a year! Our most recent visit was on May 22, our 54th Anniversary. Generations is our go-to place to eat...breakfast, lunch, dinner or happy hour! The food is so fresh and made to order. The wait staff is superb, especially Desiree, who we had this time...and Megan, who we've had in the past! Great job ladies, keep up the great work! 🩷 We also love staying at the Golden Arrow!
Great spot.
Service was slow but friendly.
Food was disappointing, but HUGE portions, so fair price.

Very pleasant large restaurant with good menu selections with a German twist on some items. Bartenders friendly and good service. In immediate proximity/ attached to hotel rooms.

We had the buds n spuds as a starter and it was SO delicious! However our meal went downhill after that, unfortunately what’s advertised as a “pizza” for $20 is a small serving no larger than an average piece of naan bread. In addition to that the forever wild cauliflower risotto was entirely flavourless, so much so we left behind most of it. With all of this said our server was great and helpful and the atmosphere is fairly cozy.

THEY ARE DISCRIMINATORY. They called me in for an interview and did not give me one AT ALL all because their chef was out for "Personal emergency reasons" they then asked me to come in a second time the next day for an interview at the same time, Which I may add I did not get that interview either they gave me the same excuse and asked me to get back with them for next week on indeed and then they Proceeded to notify me two hours after I got home that they weren't hiring At all So I am very unamused and they are very Unprofessional.

One of the best omelet I have ever had. We ordered the Van Hovenberg Omelet & Four Seasons Burrito( with no meat).
The omelet stuffed with cheese was rich ,creamy, and bursting with flavor as a result of the béarnaise sauce . The cheese was perfectly melted, adding a smooth texture that balanced well. Every bite was a savory experience, with home made fires which were crispy , cajun garlic seasoning making it a comforting and satisfying. The The egg white
omelet was so fluffy and cooked to perfection with cherry tomatoes added a popping flavor. The Rye bread on the side was so warm and delicious.
However the one thing which was overpowering the sauce was the lavender / rosemary which slightly threw away the balance of the dish. If that flavor was a bit subtle it would be an excellent dish.
Again one of the best omelet I had, and it made me feel full and happy.
When in Lake Placid try out this place.
Vegetarian options: No vegetarian choice, no chicken in breakfast as well.
