“Great food! You get a good amount for a reasonable price, especially comparing to the other restaurants in town. A little bit further from the touristy strip of shops but still close. Recommend the Falafel platter and pita, and the lemon potatoes side!”
“Great local brewery/ hangout. Had a fun time (and some really good food) with some friends today! I had the pulled chicken Bahn Mi, my wife had the Margharitta Pizza, both were filling and pretty darn good! Our dining companions had a salad with chicken and the beef/ tomato/ and vegetable soup, and a middle-eastern dish with falafel (which were declared the lightest she had ever had!)”
“The Salt of the Earth Bistro will go down as one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. After constantly driving past this place heading into Lake Placid, my dad and I decided to make a reservation for dinner to celebrate completing the ADK 46er challenge. The food was delicious, the waiter had amazing attention to detail and was extremely knowledgeable. I would give 10 stars if I could. The price is 100% worth it.”
“Great food (Peruvian and American), attentive service, nice drink selections, perfect location. I've been to Lake Placid a number of times and passed this place by, now it will be one of my go-to choices in town. The ceviche entree was amazing, a large piece of whitefish (cut up into small pieces) with some Peruvian corn and plantain chips. I've had several different kinds of ceviche over the years, but usually as an appetizer. This was different, and I was happy to make a whole meal of it. The other Peruvian dishes looked good on the menu, so I'll have to return to try some of those. The more traditional bar food looked and smelled delicious as it walked by me, but I didn't try any. They had several beers on tap, including Miracle on Ice ale (how could they not have it, given the location?). And when I saw Pisco sour (a traditional Peruvian/South American drink) as a drink option on the chalkboard, I had to try one. This is an excellent choice for a meal or snack before or after a hockey game, as it's right across the street from both Olympic rinks (and they're aware of the significance of those sites, and they knew who'd won the game I'd just watched before I came in the door).”
“Very classy place...warm towel to wash your hands when you walk in, name printed on the menus....the works! The service was almost perfect....we waited quite a while for a first glass of water....but after that they didn't miss a beat. The food was very good, considering the prices it had to be. They made an extra effort on presentation, everything from the salad to dessert was nicely done. The reason I only went 4 stars is it just felt a little pretentious. If that doesn't bother you.....you'll love the place. If it does bother you, get over it and go....at least once.”
“My family’s favorite restaurant in Lake Placid. Delicious food, I had the French Onion Soup and Thai Chili Shrimp, both were fantastic. Very friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!”
“Hands down the greatest brisket sandwich I’ve ever had. Also, the maple bbq wings and pulled pork sandwich were incredible. This place is a must-have whenever you’re visiting.”
“Just had breakfast there today. I can't believe I've never been there in all the years I've come to LP (I'm a semi-resident). The menu is simple, but good. The restaurant is clean and tidy. I'll be sure to go back. I hope they stay in business. Please support the local businesses.”
“This place is right out of the past. I love it. I have stayed here a couple times and the last 2 nights was one of them. Admittedly, it was a little chilly when we got to our room (somewhat late) and the place is a little dated but it is so clean and the people are so kind AND the restaurant is Amazing! The price point is unbeatable!Stay where you feel home❤️”
“A lovely sandwich shop with good prices and an interesting menu. Staff were wonderful and the sandwiches I purchased here were excellent! It's really nice seeing some creative options and some traditional choices. I had the Big Slide and the Salmon BLT.Looking forward to coming back on my next trip to Whiteface.”
“On a short notice this place took care of my hockey team of 20 on a Saturday night being short staffed. The crew at the restaurant was so kind and fun and we enjoyed eating and drinking here! Food was fantastic and we loved it!”
“Anya and her team make everyone feel so welcome. The food is delicious and the desserts are also outstanding. I love hanging out at the bar and just chatting with Anya.”
“My friends and I had just finished a very long hike to Mount Marcy and it was dark and we were quite famished. We called Main Street Pizza & Pasta and there was just barely enough time to order and pick up pizza before they closed. We kept it simple and ordered two large Grandma's pizzas. They were fantastic! Initially I thought that maybe it was so good because we were just so spent and hungry. But the next afternoon while driving home we ate the handful of leftover slices and they were just so good too. So I would definitely recommend this place. Oh, and the owner was pretty down to Earth and friendly.”
“An excellent Italian restaurant! We stumbled upon this place after our car broke down and while waiting for repairs, decided to at least make the best of being in town for a couple days. We loved their food so much, we had to come back for one more meal to try other items on the menu.I love that they had homemade bread and dipping oil provided with every meal and my favorite winter beer — Cold Snap on draft. We had excellent pasta meals and I loved the vegetarian options.Thank you so much for making our trip to Lake Placid memorable.”
“11/10 for Lisa Gs! They kindly hosted a group of 14 for a very special weekend and were so accommodating, up to the last minute. We all raved about the food + drinks and service was outstanding. Can't wait to be back! Will recommend to everyone visiting Lake ”
