“We felt a little underdressed in our hiking clothes. The food was really good. We sat outside on the porch. The weather was great and listening to the water come over the dam was nice. Our wings and tacos were very good.”
“At the outset, let me say this place is a little pricey but well, well worth it for a special night out or to treat yourself. The food was excellent and the service smashing. It's a little close quarters so it can be a bit loud but totally worth a visit. The dessert (flourless chocolate torte) had me nearly licking the plate!”
“Absolutely our best meal so far across New England. Nice atmosphere, great service and food was really good. Husband had the Cowboy supper, a special they had with steak(held off on the blue cheese crumbles) , mashed potatoes and veggies. Steak was cooked to perfection, no salt needed. I had the pulled pork stuffed pepper, it was also fantastic. The nachos looked amazing (we didn’t get them but saw them)Highly recommend this restaurant. Casual and laid back.”
“Great food and great place to hang out. The music's a little too loud and the space a bit echo-y so if you want to have a conversation, be prepared to lean in a bit. Definitely enjoyed the pizza and chicken sandwich. Easy to speed by the sign so look out for it! Enjoyed this place and would come back.”
“We ate here a couple of times during our last visit to Placid. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the sandwiches are creative and tasty. The prices are reasonable and good value. A great place to start your day, grab something to take on a hike, or relax with a coffee.”
“Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere. The Redneck Bistro never fails to impress. We have made travels to Lake Placid just to have lunch here. The wings are amazing, the Mac & Cheese is phenomenal and the burgers are so scrumptious. Go off the Main Street and try this you will not regret it.”
“The Pork Gyro was ridiculously good as was the Spicy Feta Dip! My Mom thoroughly enjoyed her Moussaka and the Custard Pastry Dessert was INSANELY DELICIOUS!!! The service here was great and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. It's a perfect spot to grab a quick healthy bite of food that's delicious and won't cost you a fortune.”

“This is a fantastic place... the environment is warm and friendly and the food is absolutely fantastic! Thank you, Christian, for the great evening ?(The notre dame game was great)”
“Wonderful service, food was perfectly cooked, beautiful presentation, desert was perfect, homemade bread was difficult to stop eating, portions were generous. Was our favorite restaurant of the 3 we ate at in Lake Placid.”
“If you want a quaint, romantic spot to wine-and-dine your sweetie, this is a great place. A bit on the expensive side, however, they have high-quality ingredients and a beautiful atmosphere. I had a fish dish, COD, and while the cod itself was mild, the whole dish was refreshing and tasty. It had pineapple and avocado, drizzled with a sort of creme fresh sauce on top of a bed of soft rice.My husband had a generous portion of a beef stroganoff dish. It was a heavier meal but totally worth it.We also enjoyed a beautiful appetizer: a generous mound of ricotta cheese, topped with pistachios and hot honey served with a warm baguette for dipping.”
“My wife and I went there in the 70’s and 80’s. We did not stay there but we did go to the restaurant. It was highly recommended by Art Devlin. We sat at the bar for drinks before dinner and had many great conversations with Becky the bar tender, does anyone remember Becky? Food was excellent and the ambiance was perfect. Love Lake Placid!!!!Food & drinks: Drinks and food was delicious.”
“Surprised this place didn’t have a higher rating on TA. Being gluten-free, the opinions here were great. The flatbreads were delicious. Great service, great/convenient location. We had dinner and breakfast and both were great.”
“The Cottage Cafe is located at The Cottage at Mirror Lake Inn which is a small cozy restaurant on the water. We were seated inside at a cozy corner right next to the water on this rainy evening but there is outdoor seating as well. There is a limited menu but meal was delicious and the service was excellent. They have an extensive wine and beer selection as well. Prices are very reasonable and I would recommend this place for a tasty meal or drink. There is also a bar inside for seating.”

“Had the Indonesian bison and potato fritters. Mushier than I would have liked but tasted good. Couldn't really identify that it was bison though - it could have been any red meat. Burmese coconut shrimp was really delicious. Pan seared duck breast was tasty but kind of difficult to cut. The mocktail was amazing - apple, cardamom, lemon, ginger concoction. I wish they sold it in 2L bottles. Would recommend.”
