“Such a cute little bakery! An excellent variety of pastries and treats. Holy cow are the croissants tasty. They are sooo buttery, flakey, and perfect. We got the ham and cheese stuffed croissant, sausage, egg, and cheese stuffed croissant and also a chocolate croissant and they were all beyond amazing. It is a small shop with only 2 window stools up in the front, so definitely a grab and go spot. But most definitely worth a stop on your trip!“

“Castle Café — Whiteface Mountain

Reached the summit via the ASRC trail after a demanding winter ascent through heavily iced terrain, with sections requiring a ice axe on the final approach. The Castle Café was closed. The summit itself and the Castle building remain an interesting destination regardless, with sweeping views over the Adirondack High Peaks, Lake Champlain, and the Green Mountains of Vermont. The structure is worth a look from the outside, and the observation area is accessible even when the café is closed. That said, for hikers counting on a warm stop and some food after a winter ascent, it is worth checking operating hours before heading out.“
