I visited Mr. Mike’s twice. This was after Thanksgiving but before the area’s winter rush. The restaurant was completely empty. I ordered my food to go (pizza and salad). The food was good. No complaints. The prices were fair.Just something of note for anyone visiting Lake Placid, some of the businesses prefer cash and will give a discount for using cash or charge the swipe fee. Mr. Mike’s charges $1.00 for using cards. They don’t say upfront.
Mr. Mike's Pizza is the "salt of the earth" Lake Placid dining experience. A beautiful restaurant with a long history. David is continuing the family legacy by cooking up some incredible pizzas and providing a cozy family atmosphere. My family has been coming to Lake Placid for decades, and eating at Mr. Mike's is an integral part of the tradition. Highly recommended for anyone staying in the Lake Placid area! Service was good, my pick up order was ready when I was told it would be. Caesar salad was underwhelming, just romaine lettuce sprinkled with the kind of sprinkled parmesan you put on pizza served with anchovy-heavy dressing on the side and lemon wedges. No croutons. Pizza was ok, though the one I got with pepperoni had not very many of them and they were under the cheese so at first I wasn't sure there were any at all.
