“This has become my favorite breakfast place! Their coffee is so good that I finally bought a pound to have at home. Their home fries and bacon are outstanding. For a main dish I've had the blueberry pancakes and the pumpkin pancakes and the key west omelette! I never know what to get because everything is so good!! Highly recommend!! Kristen is also the best!!”

“Loved this place. Was here last year under prior ownership. The new restaurant is excellent. The food was fantastic and plentiful. We ordered the fried mushrooms, fried calamari and a giant pretzel. All were outstanding and the fried mushrooms were a huge serving. Planned on getting dinner, but the apps were so big, we had a couple of cocktails and brews and walked back to our lodge.Our server (Peter) was personable and on top of things.I have no complaints and hope they are still here for our visit next year.”

“A group of 7 of us stopped for breakfast before we headed home after a long weekend (3.5 hours away). Our waitress was absolutely wonderful and I feel horrible that her name slipped my mind! She had no problem discussing my picky orange vs white cheddar cheese choices...yes, white tastes better and that's just what they had...and then she joined in with everyone telling me I can't change my order after someone else mentioned another kind ? She honestly made us all feel right at home. The food was EXCELLENT. They make their own rolls for the breakfast sandwiches and homemade bread for the toast and boy were they both delicious. Every single one of us would definitely stop back if in town again!”

“Wow, the food! Many places have good food. This was truly delicious. All four of us felt the same.Rustic atmosphere. Smallish place. Friendly service.We started with the out of this world Brussels sprouts and the excellent octopus (great artichokes and potatoes on that plate too). We had the bison/beef meatloaf, the tofu curry, a burger and a veggie burger. All outstanding. The curry was medium spicy. The meat was super delicious.Wish we lived closer. Highly recommended!Vegetarian options: Tofu curry and impossible burger as mains. There are also salads and apps.”

“What a nice deli and bakery!! We stopped in after going to Ausable Chasm and had no idea what to expect. We got the Reuben and Philly Cheesesteak - both were awesome! And the FRIES were some of the best we’ve ever had! The owners were so nice to talk to and they even had their baby there who was just cute and smiling the whole time at everyone. Definitely pinning Hometown Deli & Bakery on the map. Whenever we are in the area again, we will definitely stop by! :)”

“We got a flat tire during our vacation to Lake Placid and the good people at Devin's Garage, especially the sweet lady who answers the phone, went above and beyond for us. She went out of her way to help us and reassure us every step of the way. They really made breaking down in the middle of nowhere, on vacation, a not that bad experience! Very grateful!”

“I returned to the Adirondack mountains in Jay, NY with my sister Kelly for a return to where we grew up. We were looking for something to eat and we forgot how there isn’t too many places open this time of year but we found Scars Bar. Allison, the owner was fabulous, food was great, and the atmosphere was fabulous. Be sure to make your way out here.”

“Great place, great service. Cash only. I’m from Buffalo and approve of these wings! Juicy and crispy with really nice flavor. (Get with Blue Cheese.) Went in off season but well worth it. Recommend!Parking: Should be parking on the street right outside. Lots of side streets with parking as well.”

“Very good food and a warming and welcoming atmosphere. The service was also top-notch. Our waiter was excellent. We hope to be back to relax by the fire in the comfy chairs someday, perhaps for a drink and some appetizers. The owners did a great job setting up the restaurant. It had some awesome Adirondack art work and north woods themed decor. It didn't feel crowded and didn't feel empty either. My wife and I look forward to going back.”

“They offer Christmas in July..we had dinner with Santa and breakfast with some of the other characters from Santa's Village. Food was good. Dinner was turkey with all the trimmings served family style. Meat was good and juciey.”

“Bar and grill at the bottom of the slopes on Whiteface Mountain. Stopped in for a drink. Bartender ( from Poland) was super friendly. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and another customer raved about the pain killer cocktail. It's a deadly concoction of different rums and fruit juices that is sure to cure any aches and pains Whiteface inflicted on you! We enjoyed a Bavarian pretzel with a yummy IPA and jalapeño cheese sauce. Large indoor seating area and lovely outdoor deck with fire pit seating.”

“Me and a friend left Cape Vincent and went to White face mountain for the day. We found this awesome little motel, bar/restaurant to stay for the night. Hungry Trout. . The Owner was a really nice guy. Told us he lived in Manhattan. The rooms are great and cozy. And with a great viewWe had the best Duck wonton and poutine ever here. The whole experience was beyond what we expected, also pet friendly. The food was amazing. We'll be back when the weather is warmer. 5+ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“We love going to Cedar Run for a coffee and pastry. Both have always been outstanding. I could count on one hand the times the pastry hasn't been, and it's usually not a quality thing but a flavor preference issue.”
