“Great hidden gem. We were here 3 times the week we were in town. Great drinks, great prices, even better service (Ana and Don were awesome). Recommend the whiskey flight, gin flight, or any of the beers or cocktails. We will be back on our next visit.”

“Great food! You get a good amount for a reasonable price, especially comparing to the other restaurants in town. A little bit further from the touristy strip of shops but still close. Recommend the Falafel platter and pita, and the lemon potatoes side!”

“Upscale feel but still fun atmosphere. Baristas were professional and coffees were great. My wife got the special, which was a beetroot latte, which I've never seen before. Evidently was awesome! Exactly what we were looking for.”

“I had a delicious cappuccino and panini here on my way to a cold night of camping in the wilderness, before the solar eclipse. I highly recommend a stop here, if in need of a coffee and sandwich.”

“Being new to town, I'm trying to experience as many different places as I can. This has, hands down, been one of the best experiences I have had so far. The owner, Bill, and my server Kara (sp?), were not only accommodating when they realized I was having a very tough day, but went out of their way to be kind and understanding during my time there even though they were extremely busy. That kind of service is what makes a place go from good to great. Thank you both for the kindness that you showed me and the impact you made on my life today. I will happily return and also recommend Top of the Park and Players to others.”

“If your into Bavarian pretzels or movie theatre pretzel bites, theirs are the best I've come across and it's homemade pretzel bread!...Boomer pie was an awesome white pie. This place is serving the kind of homemade dough every pizza place wants to achieve...crispy, fluffy, fresh. Get the homemade blue cheese on the side of anything you might want it with, she is CHUNKY and fresh...Campfire sour cocktail was exceptional, it just tastes like the smell of a spicy campfire. Delicious. IZ was our server and she recommended everything we already wanted to try and was an awesome server. We will absolutely be back. This place is worth leaving the hotels downtown for if your visiting lake placid!Vegetarian options: Falafel was probably the best I've ever had.”

“The Salt of the Earth Bistro will go down as one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. After constantly driving past this place heading into Lake Placid, my dad and I decided to make a reservation for dinner to celebrate completing the ADK 46er challenge. The food was delicious, the waiter had amazing attention to detail and was extremely knowledgeable. I would give 10 stars if I could. The price is 100% worth it.”

“Small, cozy place. Service was friendly and easy going. Better tell them if you’re in any rush.Food was good. We had the General Tso’s Tofu, Gnocchi, Hanger Steak and Chicken Tikka Masala. As vegetarians we noticed some menu errors like the “Lobster Roll” having a ‘v’, vegetarian label on the menu. Oops. The others tried the lobster roll and it was good.Dessert we shared the Maple Pot o Crème, wow, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter cup, very good.Vegetarian options: Always has vegetarian choices. Apps and mains.”

“Great food (Peruvian and American), attentive service, nice drink selections, perfect location. I've been to Lake Placid a number of times and passed this place by, now it will be one of my go-to choices in town. The ceviche entree was amazing, a large piece of whitefish (cut up into small pieces) with some Peruvian corn and plantain chips. I've had several different kinds of ceviche over the years, but usually as an appetizer. This was different, and I was happy to make a whole meal of it. The other Peruvian dishes looked good on the menu, so I'll have to return to try some of those. The more traditional bar food looked and smelled delicious as it walked by me, but I didn't try any. They had several beers on tap, including Miracle on Ice ale (how could they not have it, given the location?). And when I saw Pisco sour (a traditional Peruvian/South American drink) as a drink option on the chalkboard, I had to try one. This is an excellent choice for a meal or snack before or after a hockey game, as it's right across the street from both Olympic rinks (and they're aware of the significance of those sites, and they knew who'd won the game I'd just watched before I came in the door).”

“Busy little restaurant with excellent, attentive service. Limited seating but table turnover was quick. Appreciated having several vegetarian and vegan options. Our avacoda paninis was yummy served along with fries. Must admit we were checking out selections of food being served around us and they all looked delicious, nice presentation. ? A bit pricey; especially if feeding a family. Fortunately we were a party of two.? Not conducive for disabled using transport assistance. Clean, single room restroom located in the back. Will definitely return when back in the area.”

“Best breakfasts in the Adirondack Park and it’s a big park. Three types of coffee always available. The bread and sausages are homemade. A tip: One pancake may be enough; links over patties. Lunch is right up there too. It’s friendly, chatty, and a place you can sit and read the newspaper (or your phone) and watch Saranac Lake stroll by on Main Street”

“An amazing local business under new management to support! The menu is constantly changing with seasonal products and the staff is so friendly and attentive. I always make reservations when my mom comes to town and it's the highlight of her trip.”
“Stopped in to Jamdots Baking Co. on my way home from spring hiking. I was looking for a place that would be open early during the down season. Most of the places I wanted to try were either not open yet, or not open on a Wednesday. So I was happy that this little spot was open! I met Gemma, who was super helpful and friendly. I got a great cold brew and molasses cookies which I promptly ate on my drive out of the mountains! I also snagged some homemade marshmallows, which I can't wait to try. The storefront is unassuming and you might miss it if you're not looking, but I HIGHLY recommended making it a point to stop in and sample the delights!”

“We have eaten here a few times. The atmosphere is cozy and has an Adirondack feel. The food is delicious and homemade. The meat is smoked in house. The smoked wings are delicious. Owners son is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Our server was attentive and friendly. Off the beaten path of the main drag in Lake Placid which is nice. Definitely check them out if you are in the area.”

“Very nice place. Went a little early before the regular dinner crowd. Very good service loved the brisket Frenchdip.Parking: Can be hard at times to find parking during ski season or summertime, but if you're walking to visit the shops, this is worth the stop for a meal.”
“This place is right out of the past. I love it. I have stayed here a couple times and the last 2 nights was one of them. Admittedly, it was a little chilly when we got to our room (somewhat late) and the place is a little dated but it is so clean and the people are so kind AND the restaurant is Amazing! The price point is unbeatable!Stay where you feel home❤️”

“Hands down the best beer in the Region! Lake Placid has a couple of great breweries... The beer and mead here surpasses them. The atmosphere maybe not, but that can change eventually... It seems to be a labor of love... I've been there twice and have tried just about everything... There isn't anything subpar about this beer at all... This is my favorite brewery so far... And I've been to many in NY and VT...”
