“There's limited indoor seating, and no air conditioning, but when we visited it was a nice day so we sat at a picnic table on the large, covered patio. Our server was pleasant, but my wife was ignored when she tried to let a different employee know that they were out of soap in the ladies' room. The food was good; a step above typical fast food burgers, but the real treat was A&W Root Beer in a chilled mug. Very refreshing! All in all it was a positive experience and we'd go back.”

“Despite the scary hotdog statute, this place is great. For a tiny road side burger it was surprisingly better than it should have been. The bun was soft and delicious, the burger patty was quite flavorful and the onion rings were large and in charge. It was really quite good.”

“Castle Café — Whiteface Mountain

Reached the summit via the ASRC trail after a demanding winter ascent through heavily iced terrain, with sections requiring a ice axe on the final approach. The Castle Café was closed. The summit itself and the Castle building remain an interesting destination regardless, with sweeping views over the Adirondack High Peaks, Lake Champlain, and the Green Mountains of Vermont. The structure is worth a look from the outside, and the observation area is accessible even when the café is closed. That said, for hikers counting on a warm stop and some food after a winter ascent, it is worth checking operating hours before heading out.”

“This place is beautiful and very easily walkable for children and older folks. There is a few short staircases, but mostly flat terrain. Gorgeous views of the waterfall and fun gift shop to browse with reasonable prices. Takes about 45 minutes at a relaxed pace to walk through.”

“Surprisingly good food! We were impressed. Prices comparable to other resorts. Our server was good and attentive although hurried. Hostesses were maybe more committed to their own conversation than to customers. Looking at other reviews, I think going off-peak might be key here.”

“Been here a few times lately with a bunch of friends, as they have live music on weekends.The new owners are very friendly and welcomed our group as soon as we entered and visited with us all several times.great outdoor space .Went back last Saturday with 16 friends and band was packing up as we walked before 830.we made the most of it and danced to the jukebox. The bartender was on the ball with drinks too”

“We got sandwiches and took them to a park nearby. Everything was delicious! Generous amounts of meats, etc and a good choice of salads and chips and even dessert options. The people were friendly and quick. We'll definitely do this again.”

“I’m visiting from out of town and needed coffee; I was happy to find Cedar Run just a few minutes away from my cabin. The cashier was kind and didn’t mind checking out two orders - one for coffee and bagels, and another for grocery items (plus a tasty whoopie pie). The market reminds me of a farm store back home, and I’ll definitely come back before my trip is over. They don’t have a public bathroom, but there’s a gas station a little bit down the road; it’s worth planning ahead if you have kids or just want to spend some time hanging out and eating on their lawn. This place is a gem!”
