Food is too expensive for what you get. It was mediocre. Server was nice and attentive. Cactus on the table was annoying.

The Salt of the Earth Bistro will go down as one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. After constantly driving past this place heading into Lake Placid, my dad and I decided to make a reservation for dinner to celebrate completing the ADK 46er challenge. The food was delicious, the waiter had amazing attention to detail and was extremely knowledgeable. I would give 10 stars if I could. The price is 100% worth it.

We loved our visit to salt of the earth. We walked in on a Thursday and were able to be sat right away. The flavors were very unique & everything tasted very fresh.

This is a foodie's paradise! Simple but sweet atmosphere. Chef Andrea creates food for the soul, and Liz presents it in a prefectly balanced friendly, attentive manner. This was an unexpected treat! The food was creative and delicious, while the service was literally perfect. I highly recommend and look forward to coming back to Lake Placid, because this is the first place I will visit! Thank you both!

We enjoyed a nice Sunday evening meal at Salt of the Earth. From a technical perspective everything was virtually perfect. The service was warm and prompt and you can tell that they really put the effort in to give their diners a nice experience. Personally I found the dishes a little too busy and convoluted- lots of flavors on each plate to the point of confusion, but this is largely a personal preference.

For those of us who are major foodies - this is a must visit!! The atmosphere makes you feel as though you’ve been invited into the chef’s private home for a perfectly designed dinner!! Make reservations well in advance if you’re traveling to the area for vacation! Anything and everything on the menu is simply brilliant!! The photo is of the Duck from the menu and it was absolutely delish!! Staff is friendly and they take pride in the excellence of the experience!! I loved the wine selection by the bottle - it was abundant and not at all expensive, which was a nice bonus. Highly recommend and please save a little room for dessert: the pumpkin sundae with pralines was amazing!!

It's way over priced for small entree no salad or bread included. The bison (special) $60 &was so tough that I had all I could do to cut it without it flying off my plate, full of grizzle ..on a bed of sweet potato and 4 green beens.for $60 what in the world!Bread $11 ,only one salad and salmon dish.A glass of chardonnay and a cabernet .A 20% tip= $200....never again...it's crazy !!

Took my son out to dinner and had an amazing experience. The Chef, our server, Andrea, and the rest of the staff were so attentive. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant!

Was disappointed with the vegan Moroccan chicken. Staff was great but expected a better version of this dish. I don't think they make the cutlets on-site. ?Vegetarian options: The vegan "chicken" doesn't look to be made on-site.

Can’t imagine this not being in the top two or three restaurants in Lake Placid. Comfortable, homey atmosphere, with great food and service. We had the salmon and pork chop.

This was by far one of the best experiences I’ve had a very long time. The staff was extremely warm and inviting, the food was out of this world and if you’re even remotely considering stopping by-take this as your sign to pull the trigger! Make a reservation and enjoy! Highly under-rated but order the artisan bread plate-we absolutely devoured ours with the assorted toppings and butters. We ordered both of the specials they offered this evening (off menu) and couldn’t be happier with our choices. Faroe Island Salmon cooked to perfection and the best Bison strip steak I’ve ever tasted. Cheers, everyone!

The food isn't your usual wing and pizza nonsense like all the other places in town. They also have natural wines. I would eat here all the time if it wasn't so bright and quiet. The lack of ambiance kills the space for me. Plus they are reservation only.
