Everyone in my group of four ordered the onion soup. To our surprise, when the dishes arrived, two were proper soups, while the other two looked like scraps scraped from the bottom of a pan, unappetizing and cold.

We were disgusted and called the waitress. She took the dishes back to the kitchen and returned to tell us that the soup is not made in-house but purchased elsewhere and simply reheated, so they did not know what had gone wrong. This was unacceptable, as it was obvious that what had been served was not fit to be sent to a table, and the staff could have simply acknowledged that they had run out of soup instead of serving something so clearly unpleasant.

As a result, we had to order something else, and no compensation was offered, not even a small discount, for the inconvenience. To make matters worse, the service throughout the night was disorganized, and staff were repeatedly eating in front of customers, which felt highly unprofessional.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

I think it is a little overhyped for what it is. The location is great, the place is cozy but food is OK and service is slow (they seemed understaffed). There was a long wait to be seated but there were always 3-4 tables empty in the process to be cleaned for a long time. Most of the menu is sandwiches and nothing really special to rave about. There are better options in Lake Placid.

Loved the atmosphere inside. The posters in the ceiling and a great view of the lake from inside. The food was pricey but fair. Ordered the buffalo chicken dip, bbq pulled pork sandwich. Had the snowstorm to drink and enjoyed that. That was hot chocolate, whipped cream and liquor. Overall, I'd go back for the atmosphere but might try a different entree.

Such a wonderful spot on the water. Beautiful views, colorful ambiance, and everyone who is there is happy to be there.

A tourist trap! Good food over priced but decent, beautiful view. Horrific service (10 minutes to be waited on, no waters unless asked, wrong check given, no knowledge of allergens/menu).

You could save yourself an hour and money by grabbing sandwiches from the deli in town and sitting by the lake for lunch.

Appreciate that they are dog friendly, though given no dog bowl (standard practice in other areas).

Would not return, and cancelled reservations at the other restaurant on property after this experience.
