Lots of vegetarian options!
A wonderful treat after your gruesome backpacking trip or a day hike. The food is good. Although, they changed the menu from last year. There’s always a calm presence of the staffs at the eatery which is so cool. Always smiling and positive vibes from the people around.
Overall, I love the place, people and the food. Would definitely recommend to all the hungry hikers.

Yum and wow pulled pork on a bun was great
After a long hike back from camping at Lake Colden for 2 nights, we were happy to discover "The Hungry Hiker" at our parking lot. We were expecting basic hamburgers or hot dogs, but found a diverse menu instead. The tacos were damn good!
Very limited menu, lots of vegan choices, hamburgers, gluten free buns, 2 icecream flavors. I really appreciated it, we went 2 nights in a row and our burgers were delicious. I got it without a bun, my boyfriend got it with a gluten free bun and he said it was "quite good". The burger came with lettuce, onion, and tomato all fresh and yummy, the coleslaw was homemade and amazing, and a delicious pickle. I would give it 5-stars except the menu is so limited. It was so great to do a 12.5 mile hike and then not have to cook.Another issue was that the staff closed for their "lunch" break around 5:30pm when it was the busiest time, people were all coming off the trail .. seems odd that they would take that time to take a break, when they are only open from 2-8pm ...
Good food close to trailhead

Hamburger was amazing, and the beer was good as well.
To start, when checking out they boldly asked if I would like to leave a 15% or 20% tip for my order. This place does not give full service like a restaurant, you just order and then go pick it up at the window. It was a little off putting that they would just make those the two options. I decided I would leave a tip because I love the ADK Log and want to support the facility.Later when I was eating my burrito I found not one but TWO chunks of sponge in my burrito!!! They we green synthetic plastic chunks. This is inexcusable. If anyone is reading this I ordered my food on Aug 14 (Friday) 2020 between 3:45-4:15pm. The chef on duty should be acknowledged for this mishap.
