Slice review. Papa's Pizza Oven. Ordered the sweet sauce to compare with the last time I had it. Let's start with the good, which is a very small list. If you like cheese, Papa's will please you. Lots of cheese. This is where my praise ends. I don't know what was wrong with the dough today, might of been old. The dough was thinner than NYC pizza. Not a good dough for all the slop of sauce and mess that this pizza is. Pepperoni may be hand cut or thick sliced. Which is a preference of mine. The pepperoni had no tang or flavor. Very mild and disappointing. Now on to the sauce, which I will use another D word for explanation. Disgusting. Sauce so sweet, I thought I was having dessert. I felt my blood sugar rising. No flavor to the sauce, just sauce and sugar/honey. I would prefer to eat a cup of sugar vs eating this pizza style ever again. This isn't Buffalo Pizza. No old school place ever made this in the West Side or North Buffalo. I'm going to give this pizza a solid 2.3, using the One Bite scale. Which pretty much mean that this pizza has no redeeming qualities and you should not stop or spend money at any of their locations, unless you like pizza that tastes like candy. The homemade bleu is OK, reminded me of Just Pizza's a bit, but of course, Papa's had to use the wrong Bleu chunks and ruined the contrast of the flavor profiles. If you're gonna jazz up a Bleu, the Bleu needs to be milder, to not take away from the experience

Quality is going down. Not much crust supporting the pizza and pizza was undercooked with heavy sauce being lukewarm. I think they’re trying to get these cooked in a shorter period of time and the result is a bit disappointing.

First time having this pizza, I seen a pic of their pizza on FB and it reminded me of an old memory pizza favorite from Bocce pizza on Clinton St, Buffalo. I bought the large pizza double cheese and double pep. I got it with the sweet sauce and to me the sauce was too sweet i mean really too sweet. Everything else about this pizza was on point. I guess next tome I'll order regular sauce. Thanks for the choice. Not sure how others feel about the sweet sauce but i would never again order sweet sauce. Maybe if you mix the sauce which is also an option might cut the sweetness. Might i suggest cut down on the sugar in your sweet sauce.....

Usually worth my 20 minute drive however today my experience was terrible. The girl who took my order was rude and just as rude when I arrived to get my food. Ordered double pepperoni but barely regular

I am checking out different Pizza places in the area so I decided to stop at Papa's Pizza Lancaster location, as the parking lot looked full so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I ran into grab me a slice for $4.34. Are you kidding me what is this place serving for the money? If the owner was served a slice of pizza as was passed off to me they would not return! I want to include the box it was in was made for slices.
I don't know how this place is still in business but as far as the parking lot being full that's just the people that work there parking up front and not customers, now I understand why! Shame on you, this was my first time and my last time coming here.

Place was good when it first opened. Now, not so much. When you get a good pizza, there really isn't anything better around. The problem is, the consistency is non-existent and it is getting worse and worse and worse. Last pizza I ordered was barely any dough that didn't rise at all with a pile of cheese on top if it. I literally couldn't even pick a piece up in my hands without it flopping all over the place and making a mess everywhere. I'll give it some time before seeing if they can get their act together consistently.
I am one who rarely leaves a negative review, but I had to follow through with this one. I have been looking for the best pizza place in Lancaster and I thought I found it in Papa's. It was new and crowded so I thought I'd try it. I went the first time and it was great. I went a few more times and started seeing an issue. The pizza and wings were not consistent.
Then I went one time and the customer service and wait for food was ridiculous. But today, 10/20/24, I ordered again to give another chance to Papa's. Well, I was very disappointed. I ordered the double dip medium and garlic parm wings to be crispy. They were neither double dipped or crispy. The issue that put it to the end was the customer service. I received an email, stating my order was ready.
I walked in and asked for my order, my wings were ready but they said my pizza was not. And then I was not communicated with again. They checked with the back and it seemed they did not do my pizza, so after waiting 10 minutes I asked about my order and sure enough it was ready now. But if I did not ask, who knows how long it would have taken. No matter how good the food might be, customer service is what drives me to eating at certain places. Due to the poor service I have had, I will not be going back here ever again.

This place has impeccable food! Great prices and everything was fresh and hot. I drove a long distance to try this place because I heard nothing but good things and man... I am glad I don't work there or I would eat food all day long.

The Sweet Sauce is Amazing! Tastes like the old Wise Guys on Seneca St. Super tasty. They are a bit on the pricy side tho. All we ordered a was LG Cheese and Pep and it was close to $30 which is kinda crazy for just a pie. I remember getting a Large Pie for $10. I Could understand Chicken Wings being high but even those have come down in price. I can goto walmart and buy a bag or wings for $10 for like 30 wings. Once in a while to order is ok. But I mostly cook at home. Eating out is too expensive now days.
