Was headed down to Latham Sunday to hit some shops we don't have here in southern Vermont and my husband joked, as I was leaving, "so we're having Indian for dinner?" I hadn't even thought of it (usually it's just when I am coming home from the airport). I ordered through yelp/grubhub as I was finishing my shopping and then headed over. I'd never tried Karavalli but it came highly recommended from a friend and she was right: it's awesome. As far as the takeout experience using yelp, it was easy to order and add a note (I always get takeout without napkins and whatnot to eliminate waste), ready right at the earliest moment it could be and REALLY well-packed. When I entered the space, which is very nice, I was greeted by a friendly host and then by the bartender who grabbed my order for me. The food was delicious and still hot when I got back home (about a 50-minute drive). The saag paneer is insanely fresh and had a nice amount of fresh ginger -- yummmmm. The chicken tikka masala was decadent and while I think it could have had a bit more chicken, it was delicious. We got the plain naan and it was chewy with a little crispness. You can order an 8 oz side of tamarind chutney. I did and have been putting it on literally everything. I will DEFINITELY make Karavalli a regular stop when making my trips to Latham for ulta/homegoods/michaels/target runs. I'd also like to try their Sunday brunch and to eat in the restaurant at some point!

First time at this restaurant and the food was outstanding as wife had rack of lamb and I had chicken palabra. Service was slow, but we arrived a little before 5; by the time we left place was jumping. Could be any restaurant in a utilitarian strip mall, but food is authentic.

This place is in my opinion very good. Staff is attentive and friendly. Food comes out hot and fresh. And the serving size is great for sharing with the table. My one and only complaint is the Phaal. To some people I can see it being very spicy but if I request it to be even more spicy than what's prepared usually it never comes out that way. Please please please make the Phaal even spicier!

I have been here several times for their lunch buffet both on a weekday and weekend. For a slight up-charge their weekend buffet offers a few more options so it's quite nice if you are in the mood for more. I really like the overall cleanliness of the establishment and the zen feel. The staff is friendly and I am always ready for the basket of hot naan bread that is brought to the table once you are situated. The buffet station is always well kept and tidy so it never feels sloppy and skeevy. I also like that the salad and condiments and desserts are in their own little area so it's not lumped together with their hot foods. Speaking of hot foods, their vegetable options are delicious and not too spicy either. However the various spices that are used to make these intricate dishes definitely come through. I personally like their tandoori chicken as it's never dry and always seasoned to perfection. The house made chutneys go so nicely with the salad as well as with the basmati rice and main dish options. The finale and what I would consider my happy ending would have to be their fragrant and creamy rice pudding which really hits the spot and should not be missed. Go here if you are in the mood for consistently tasty Indian food! A side note, have a delightful mango lassi drink for an extra treat.

I went there with friends for lunch and arrived at 12:30 pm. We were seated right away. There were a lot of patrons there. We opted for the buffet. The food selection was limited and the hot dishes were cold or room temperature. The naan was not fresh, it seemed like they batched cooked in the am and served it as needed. There is not an order for the buffet, so there were constant lines past our table. They could do a little rearranging and have the buffet one line.
If you're looking for authentic Indian food this is place you need to go. The food is outstanding. No one else makes Lamb Vindaloo better or Chicken Korma. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Best Indian restaurant in the Capital District, IMO.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant for dine in or take out. I probably get dinner from Karavalli 1-2/month. The lunch buffet is amazing too! Everything I have tried is delicious and the staff is so nice. Highly recommend.
Absolutely a must try is all I can say!The staff is very welcoming and treats you like family. The atmosphere is relaxing and inviting! Food is to die for!You can certainly have a very nice date night here or bring the family. Prices are what you expect for Indian food. You can definitely taste the quality of the food. Plenty of parking and seating shouldn't be a problem. If your having a bigger party. I suggest reservation. This is a must try and totally worth the trip!
