The food options were great and farm to table experience I'm not so sure.... But I think it was descent . We got the burger, duck, steak and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The service though can use a boost. Our waitress had a runny nose that was dripping as she would come by. And the bus boy was asked to clean our table before our dessert came and he just grabbed a noodle and a broccoli 🥦 and left.... 😬. So the whole environment was unbalanced. They can definitely improve, otherwise I just see it as a franchise... like pf changs

I chose Scarlet Knife for what I expected to be an upscale brunch experience with my son based on the menu and pricing. We both ordered the steak and eggs and shared the fruit platter. The $16 fruit platter was shockingly small for the price, as shown in the photo. The filet, listed as 4 ounces, was equally disappointing in portion size and presentation. For a brunch bill totaling over $100 for two people, the value simply was not there. The food was mediocre at best and extremely overpriced for what was served. I will say the service was good, and the restaurant itself has a nice ambiance. Unfortunately, this was my second visit and both experiences were underwhelming. I had hoped the first time was an exception, but this visit confirmed it will be my last.

Forced to do a New Year's Eve menu which I wasn't aware of. I've only seen other restaurants provide as a prix fix menu as a whole “experience” but it wasn't that it was just a reduced menu, was looking forward to other menu items and couldn't even add on a side, it was more annoying than anything but the food was good aside from that.

Food is overpriced for what you get. A thick pork chop ( on the menu as pork prime rib) was very tough and was priced at $38 with stuffing and Brussel sprouts. Dessert and cocktails also overpriced but at least were good

For a supposed high-end restaurant, this was very mediocre. It was brunch but the still, the food was tasteless. The atmosphere is more like a food court.

Came for a family brunch. Loved the open space and ambience. We were there near opening time so the noise level was perfect and we loved the music played. Our server was helpful and very understanding and accommodating about our food allergies. The food was fantastic. We'll be back!

We've been to Scarlett knife several times and always enjoyed our time there. However, our recent experience was disappointing. The restaurant had two big events underway so the noise level was loud and the service, mediocre at best. The food was good but our overall experience was poor. We'll try again, since it's a lovely restaurant.

We had brunch here today and it was spectacular. The service was the best I've had in a capital region restaurant and the food was very good. High-quality ingredients well prepared and beautifully presented. The prices seemed very reasonable for the service/setting/food. We particularly appreciated having several vegetarian items available and feeling very unrushed to sit and chat over brunch. Definitely among the best restaurants in the Capital region. I also noted the gender neutral bathrooms, which are always very appreciated! We will be back.

My husband and I had such a great dining experience last night. The appetizers were amazing. The halibut was delicious and my husband loved the tuna special. We thoroughly enjoyed the staff and wish I had been able to try the pear flambé but I was just too full. Looks like we need to come back next Saturday!

Party of 8, restaurant was not busy. Not enough staff. Service was very slow, food mediocre.

Very attentive service was a good match for the new fall menu. The chef's table (or bar) was a great choice as we got great opportunity to speak with Chef Paul. Danielle our server was awesome!

What a great experience! Service was attentive and knowledgeable... and the menu options were very much to our liking. We never felt rushed which allowed us to enjoy appetizers (one modified for gluten free) and cocktails. Our ribeyes were prepared as ordered and the short rib was great. I liked the wine selection very much and thought the pairings were spot on. Then we went to the special "dessert room" to enjoy 3 different desserts (the chai latte crème brûlée was gluten free and so good) with our after-dinner drinks. Yes, this was as pricy as any other reputable steak house around Albany but this experience was special. Our new spot for a great drink/apps at the impressive bar or for a special celebration!

Went for Sunday Brunch. Sat outside on the patio. Service was a little lackluster but the food was excellent. Inside is large and could see it getting very loud with a full crowd. Drinks to food was all well done and well presented. I will definitely be back.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Scarlet Knife and were thoroughly impressed by the experience. The restaurant offered a thoughtfully prepared vegetarian menu, and Head Chef Paul personally accommodated our request for low-salt dishes. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient, while the cuisine itself was both creative and delicious.

The atmosphere was elegant and inviting, enhanced by the remarkable transformation of a former KMart building into a refined and welcoming dining space. I was especially impressed to learn that only local contractors were engaged for the renovation and that the kitchen is equipped entirely with appliances made in the USA. This attention to detail and commitment to quality was evident throughout the entire experience.

Overall, Scarlet Knife demonstrates exceptional care not only in its culinary offerings but also in the values reflected in its design and operations.

Highly recommended. We got lucky and went in there on a slow night and got the best service we've ever had in any restaurants. The food there is amazing too (especially the sea bass and deserts).
