We came in for a layover on a flight that lasted alll day and honestly our Rachel was so great!!! She made me feel better about traveling, was quick, handled like 9 or 10 new tables that came in like a bosssss and for an airport restaurant she’s a real keeper. And I really hate flying. So I’m grateful for her and the good food.

I'm still waiting for my food. Do they not realize this is an airport?

EVERY table was filthy and empty. I didn’t even sit down. Staff busy stocking from boxes. Would it kill to wipe down the tables?

Arrived at 8:30pm, and this was the only restaurant still open. Unfortunately, their kitchen was closed, so we could only buy cold sandwiches & salads. We steered away from the salads because the lettuce at the bottom was fully brown and filled with gooey brown liquid.
I took a bite into my caprese sandwich and realized it tasted and smelled off. I checked the back of the container and realized it had expired 3 days prior. I brought it back up to the counter and they gave me a new one with a date 4 days in the future, which was bland but at least not (visibly) spoiled. Despite the low quality, the meal came to almost $20/person.
In summary, 1) You cannot buy hot food at Albany Airport at 8:30 pm, and 2) At The Local @ ALB, you can get cold food as long as you don't mind eating expensive rot/spoilage.

Worst service I have ever experienced. Sat down at the bar, it took 30 minutes for someone to take my drink order. The one woman was so rude and short with other people trying to check out. Whenever a customer asked her a question she would just respond with the total they owed. She also repeatedly coughed into her hand which is super unhygienic for someone working with food and drinks. There was dirty dishes everywhere and she left for a cigarette break leaving the other in the weeds. The nice woman with the short blonde pony tail did the best she could with what she was given.

You could die of old age waiting for a server, and it wasn't that busy.
Go down the concourse to Silks, which is much better managed and attentive.

If you can fit in at the bar, don’t bother trying to sit at a table and expect any service.
Waited 30 minutes to be acknowledged from the two staff members working behind the bar. Finally was told “I’ll come take your order shortly” when I saw another patron point myself and multiple others who had been waiting out to them. Waited another 15 minutes before I just got up and walked out. I was not the only one who left.

While awaiting a flight I decided to stop and have a drink and snack at the bar. There was only one person at the bar and a couple tables had customers. 2 women were clearly bartending and waiting on the tables. The first stood in front of me seated at the bar and proceeded to make 1 cocktail. She did not acknowledge me. The second a minute or so later said hello and would be w me shortly. the 2 women decided to have a conversation about the snow and some lights before serving me. The bar had a couple dirty dishes, they never got moved or cleaned. I grabbed a menu off the dirty bar since I was not offered one. Read the menu and placed it down. Both women proceeded to chat and serve other guests. Never did either ask if I wanted anything else. Looks like they do not care so I will not be tipping or using this bar when in Albany again.

Came here while waiting for a flight. Food was pricey but beers were under 10$. Our server was AWESOME attentive and kind despite being very busy.
Kid-friendliness: Our server was very kind and patient with our son.

Look, you can complain about airport food til the cows come home but this spot is pretty great. Sweet and spicy bartender, at least 1 super local beer on tap, and large fresh salads. It’s like a locals place in an airport. I’ll take it any day over most big airport grossness. Just be quiet and eat your food.

Plane was delayed twice. Decided to pass the time with a couple of drinks. Waiter was great.. all smiles, polite and checked in with us often until our flight finally boarded.

Tried to grab some breakfast and coffee from here before our flight. Coffee was really bad. It tasted like it had been on the warmer most of the day and had a bad burnt flavor. Breakfast quesadilla was decent but not great.

Comfortable place with good food. My Ceasar Salad was twice the size of the ones I saw at Chick-fil-A and the self-serve kiosks, but only 1.5x the price. Friendly server. I sat at a table but saw that the bar was lively.
