We were on our way back to Boston from the midwest and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place than this.
Food was great, service was great, they receive you with amazing green tea and miso soup which were delicious, sushi chef was always wearing gloves and restrooms were perfectly clean.
Great, great, great.

Recent change of owners. I love the new owners. He has mastered the restaurants unique recipes such as the New York roll and given them his own unique style. Caviar roll is unique with 5 different types of roe. Tracy Roll great. Fresh ingredients. Friendly chef/owners

This place used to be the best Sushi restaurant in the Capital District. Sadly, after chef Yoshi retired, the quality of food noticeably and drastically fell down. I used to visit regularly, but now won't go there anymore.
The wait was an hour and a half plus. Fish was not fresh and not cut thinly. Tuna was very fishy the octopus was bland. The simple rolls fell apart. The rice tasted old. The edamame was over cooked. The food was a good size however. Service not best, didn’t clean up menus or dirty dishes. Would recommend Unagi in Troy.

Was good, they changed owners. I think the new owners/chef are trying to get used to making sushi but decent and the service was great. The sushi rice was a bit soggy from too much rice vinegar. Fish was fresh, had a fun dinner. They gave out complimentary miso soup and house salad!!

Best sushi we have eaten in years, if not ever. Mom and pop shop, and every roll is made fresh, so you gotta be patient. (Came in right after a giant party of businessmen, and when I tell you we didn’t get our food for an hour and the sushi was worth the wait, you catch my drift!) The salmon skin with salmon on top absolutely to die for. Yoshi is very clearly a master of his craft!

Aye there today and once again it was great
As a New Yorker, I’m picky when it comes to sushi, so I was genuinely surprised to come across Yoshi Sushi. It’s a traditional spot with incredibly fresh fish and classic preparation. The staff is always kind and welcoming. The sushi does take a little while to come out, but that’s only because the chefs are extremely detail-oriented and take their time to do it right. Absolutely worth the wait. Highly recommend.

Basically had to ask them to get my to go order because they ignored me. I got the some sushi which was warm and slimey looked old, like it was sitting out and a Yoshi roll that sounded good but is just a jumble of crap with other ingredients not listed. How are you supposed to eat this ? The shrimp is old a rubbery. Super disappointed for 55 bucks i could have just gotten a platter or gone to market 32 for better sushi. But dont think I'm ever going back wont even feed this to my dog.🤢

Excellent, fresh fish.
I read a Times Union piece last year that this was the best sushi on the region. Finally got here. I'll stop going to the other places now

This is authentic sushi served in a no frills atmosphere. Put down that grocery store fake sushi and treat yourself to the real deal. The pacing is slower here, but it's worth the wait. They are BYOB, so pick up an adult beverage to enjoy while you dine in.
