This place is a hidden gem. The food is fresh and delicious, and the music creates a nice vibe. Unfortunately, it could really benefit from better marketing and stronger customer service. It feels like there’s a lot of untapped potential, but not enough motivation to elevate the overall experience for customers.

Additionally, the heating situation needs attention—small portable heaters throughout the space look unappealing and take away from the ambiance.

They previously had another location that was amazing, so it’s disappointing to see this one not living up to that same standard. Hopefully the owner and staff can identify what’s holding them back and bring this place to the level it deserves, because it truly has the potential to be one of the top spots on Long Island.

We truly hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism. We love this place and only want to see it improve and reach the level we know it’s capable of.

Before I started to drive all the way here I called in advance to ask what time these people will be open told me 1am… drove 20 min just to be told I need to make a reservation…? When the place is so damn dead there is no one in there. Terrible service they should have never closed the Merrick one

No one was in the restraurant. A mexican restraurant empty on a Tues. I was skeptical but ate anyway. Food was great. Just apps but we were both pleased. 2 for 1 drinks as well. Only complaint was that we decided to pay cash after reading a credit card incident in the past

Idk where to start. Food was great, service was below average. For a Mexican theme restaurant, the bartender didn’t know what I was asking for when I asked about an additive free tequila (strike 1). My girlfriend ordered a cosmo from their cocktail list, mentions Tito’s but bartender was going to use well vodka (strike 2). I ordered esquite appetizer, mentions mayo as ingredient but none in there so I had to ask for it (strike 3). What restaurant doesn’t provide water with food (strike 4)? Strike 5, which is the biggest, was the automatic gratuity of 20%. I don’t mind tipping but how do you force someone to tip for a service you didn’t even provide??!! At least crack a smile and make believe you’re happy to have patrons at your bar.

Upon arrival the staff had the nastiest attitude not welcoming or friendly at all . It was a large group and there was no one else in the restaurant and they made it seem like it was a bother that we were there . And once we got to ordering apparently half of the menu was not available 😀a bit strange lol . Waitress slammed the food and drinks multiple times on the table , this place is not going anywhere having staff like that there ! Do not waste your time or money coming here because it’s definitely not worth it ! Overpriced food , steak was completely dry , boxed rice drinks were horrible . The fact that there was nobody else there but us they took 20 minutes to to bring us drinks and even longer for our food . Very disappointed with this place , definitely not a REAL Mexican restaurant

I usually don't like write review on business, but i feel the need to voice my experience because it left a bad vibe with me .
Saturday 13,2025 I was there late with my wife and 2 friends having a few drinks and put experience was a very good one.
First thing it wasn't busy and the bar staff ignored us for close to 15 minutes,and when we did get serve our expresso martin was straight up Bailey's with 3 coffee been on top, when I mention to the bar tender it not what I wanted he did replace it with the correct stuff.
After finishing our drinks and food we requested the bill and we was over charged by more that $50 when I queries it the bar guy said to me well you have to pay for the 2 martini that we return and there was some other cost that I didn't recognize and I ask for the manager he changed the bill a pretty much give me the same price except this time the bill just has numbers no items showing on the bill, after a few minutes if back and forth he did reduce their bill but the next day I checked my bank account and I was charged the original price that I was disputing.
I think it wasn't a mistake the was assuming we wouldn't check the bill and just pay so in my opinion the purposely add extra.
I will never return there and will continue giving this place a bad rep.

I used to love this place for the food, margaritas, and atmosphere, but I won’t be back after my last visit. They advertised $5 margaritas with no time listed, gave conflicting information, and still charged full price. We reached out to the restaurant afterward and got no response — almost like they knew they were caught in a lie. Very disappointing. Make sure to ask your server about the promos before ordering, even if they have it posted on their social media!!
