After reading all of the reviews we may have gone on a bad day but our experience was so disappointing. The food was cold, our drink was good, but we couldn’t get a second because supplies were too low and it felt as though it was an imposition. Excited to try something new but I don’t think I would give it a second go due to the service, quality of the food and how long it took to revive our order. Staff was not welcoming and we didn’t get what was described on the menu. I hope it was just a bad night for them and that it improves. Like to see something different succeed.

This place is awesome and the only thing I'm sad about is that it isn't in my neighborhood. Good BBQ, comfortable space, and the kindest staff around (and I'm difficult to deal with and indecisive). This a great restaurant, and the people here work hard to make it special. I enjoyed it.

When we first moved to the area we came to The Normal and loved it. The pulled pork sandwich with tumeric slaw and brisket with ligonberry are still our go-to orders. Unfortunately, our favorite side (German potato salad) was taken off the menu for French fries. Our experience with most of the other sides are that they are pretty basic or overly salted. The other BBQ items we have tried and found to be a bit more hit or miss than the previously mentioned sandwiches. I love BBQ being from the south and I appreciate the unique spin done here by the chef, but the sandwiches are all we get anymore.

What a great find while on the road!!! The wings and ribs were delicious!!! The mac n cheese was creamy but needed a little more seasoning. The craft beer was ok. We asked for vodka cran with club soda, but they had no cran, and the bartender just gave our server straight club soda. Our server was attentive and very friendly. What a great place to eat in this quant little town. I recommend coming here if you're nearby.

For starters I'm a foodie and a hard critic when it comes to smoked meat. I have been staying in Rochester and looking for the best BBQ spots around. I saw all the awesome reviews for this place on Google and decided it was a must to check out. I'm so grateful we did! Me and my buddy both got the Smoked Turkey Sandwich and it was phenomenal! Everything is fresh, seasoned properly, and the ratios are on point. We got 2 sides to go with the sandwich and split them. We got a small order of Steak Fries which were seasoned and amazing and also a small order of Cucumber Dills and they were seriously refreshing. The place is really cool inside, it's very clean, and tastefully decorated. The customer service was the absolute best! The prices are really fair and it's worth the drive from Rochester! I highly recommend!
P.S. Their soda is locally made and awesome as well.
Took some take out food to try. My usual place is dinosaur Rochester downtown. Service very good but food is subpar comparing to dinosaur . It’s not bad but personally prefer dinosaurs.

We had a great experience at The Normal! Their new bar is beautiful and they have well-conceived and crafted cocktails that elevate your meal! We had the wings (try all their sauces) the brisket, the turmeric coleslaw and the cucumber dills. Everything was delicious and the slaw was the best we have ever tasted, as were the wings!! Do not miss this little gem in Lima!

Had the guasida beef brisket was marvelous and the lime salsa amazing. Had a berry blend tequila, not sure of name but delicious. Husband had wings and son pulled pork sandwich with side of Mac and cheese. He enjoyed the beer varieties.
