I stopped here while driving through Long Island. The fried flounder sandwich was great and the staff were very friendly! I plan to stop in again next time I'm in the area.

Wow every year we make a special visit from Queens for my girlfriend's birthday not only is the food fabulous but it's like a fisherman's museum... The owners spent some time showing us the fish he caught and stuffed for all to see.. Holy moly it is amazing to eat the great affordable food and have the ambience of eating in the ocean... We will be going there more often and would encourage everyone come and enjoy a great fish lunch or dinner and like me I have a burger while she loves the King Crab legs mmmm good ...

Haven’t been here in a bit but I was shocked when I ordered a lb of octopus salad and when I went to eat it the next day it stunk like old fish and as soon as I took two bites out of it I had to throw the rest out as one of the two pieces I ate was definitely going bad it was mushy and had a yellow tinge to it after this experience and all the bad reviews saying the same thing I’m sorry to say I won’t be back anytime soon and that sucks because I used to love south side it just seems like they don’t care anymore about quality and freshness and you can’t mess around with seafood that’s going bad I was going to bring it back and ask for my money to be returned but then realized they didn’t even give me a receipt so I guess there goes $25 out the window I would love to give them another shot but with seafood being so expensive to me it’s not worth it to spend top dollar again and find out the food is nasty. Hey Sal and Tony and the rest of management at south side I used to work at the clam bar years ago what happened to quality and freshness being #1 priority ?

Crab cakes wasn't good, lots of beard and too soft, also they don't have the correct sauce to go with it. I waited a long time to place my order ... they had 1 person taking orders and seating people. Food wasn't that good and I'm never going back. I knew the food wasn't good as soon as she put the plate down and I looked at it, crab cakes were burnt, I should have walked out then

I get the steamed shrimp. South side never disappoints. Their personnel offer quick and knowledgeable service and their shrimp is always perfect for dinner parties. Would definitely recommend.

Nicest of staff ever! Atmosphere could benefit from old fashioned decor to update with possibly blue paint to make it look like the ocean...food is good but tartar sauce horrible. They also need some homemade mashed potatoes or a little more savory vegetable sides with garlic.

I ordered food for me and my niece from this dreadful place on Saturday, 11/18/2023 after not ordering for years. I should have listened to my husband. I don’t even know how this place is still open. The food is garbage and I mean that literally. I ordered shrimp and broccoli with fettuccini in garlic butter sauce. There was no fettuccini, (they gave me linguini instead) there was no garlic anywhere in this bland dish and the broccoli looked like it was left over from a week ago, mushy and old. The food was not seasoned at all no salt definitely no garlic, just a lot of oil at the bottom of the dish. I wasted $62.00 because it was not edible. They will never ever get another penny from me. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY. I though that over the years they would have gotten better, it’s actually tremendously worse. NEVER AGAIN. They should be ashamed of themselves for serving people this garbage.
