Grandpa Chen Char Siu Bao Reviews
Amazing bakery the buns are heated for you and their pineapple crusts are so crispy :D
The best tasting pineapple bun with roast pork. Excellent egg tarts. Come buy by the dozens.
Simple and no fuse bakery. Everything is super fresh. The service is fast too. So even if you see a line out the door don't be intimidated. If you don't see what you're looking for in the case, just ask because they are constantly baking and steaming for the demand. Sometimes it will take a few, but that just means you'll be lucky and get them extra extra fresh.
It is a small location so I'd personally just take my items to go, since crowds come and go.

Grandpa Chen Char Siu Bao is a restaurant known for its delectable Char Siu buns. The buns, priced at $2.50-$3 each, come in various options, including the popular Pineapple topping version. Customers praise the well-balanced combination of sweet and savory flavors in the Char Siu buns, especially the Snow Crusted and Pineapple varieties. The Pineapple version adds a delightful texture and sweetness. The restaurant also offers other items such as coffee, cookies, and steamed bao. The Kaya Bun (egg yolk) receives positive reviews for its excellent bun, though the filling could be improved. Grandpa Chen Char Siu Bao offers a friendly atmosphere and staff who speak both English and Cantonese. Customers have described the Pineapple Bun Char Siu Bao as on par with the renowned Mei Lai Wah in Chinatown, and the Pineapple Bun with Roast Pork as a standout menu item, especially when enjoyed warm from the oven. The restaurant's egg tarts have also been highly recommended, with customers noting the delightful combination of a buttery, flaky crust and a silky smooth egg custard.
