Heid's of Liverpool

I’ve always loved Heid’s, but after this last visit I have to give them a hard “not recommended.” We had two people and ordered 2 hot dogs, 2 drinks, fried pickles, chili cheese fries, a cookie, and a brownie. It was $58. I used to love coming here daily for lunch during my time in trade school, but I can’t recommend them beyond possibly a single visit for the novelty. The food has not increased in quality nor quantity, yet the prices have massively spiked. I don’t think that’s appropriate for an independent take out joint.

Great location. Classic location to be at. Great people and staff. Food is at a fair price. Tastes amazing. Never a dull moment here. Heid's and than lights on the lake. Always a great combo.

The bathroom smell is alot when your walking to and from the condiments. The staff was kind, hard working and diligent. The smell of the bathroom smelled a lot though

I had to try Heid’s original location I was disappointed. I have heard so much about this Syracuse tradition. Especially the fries, well mine were double cooked and tasted like the grease and small. I complained and they said that’s the way they come? Look at the picture you be the judge! I did like the sausage but not the 10 dollars price. The hot dogs were very small for the price 6 dollars for a chili dog “ Really”The beer was excellent.. not sure I would go back unless they run price specials!

The hot dogs here are far from good. I have had better hot dogs from an Oscar Myers pack. The price of $6 for one dog is outrageous. The place is cute, but the reason I didn't go lower is because the food wasn't actively bad.

Heid's asked for more information.
The taste of the dog is subpar. The texture is very tough because the case that is used on these dogs is way to thick. This creates a texture in the dog while chewing that is less than optimal. The chili is ok nothing much to comment on. But the price is outrageously expensive.

Whenever we come back to syracuse to visit, heid's is a must stop. We completed a 10k race at the amphitheater and came here for breakfast.

It was very good, but very expensive. I have made a facsimile of this at home for a fraction of cost. And don't get me started on the cost of soft drinks. Insane! I might go here once a year if I need to blow $20 plus on lunch.

Parking: The only bad thing is that this restaurant is not wheelchair or walker friendly. Access is limited and not the best. Food is great. Service was fast. Cost is pricey but worth it.
