Initially, my daughter and I wanted to have lunch at Uncle g's across the street, but their kitchen was closed for the season. So, we went to the Ship and very glad that we did because it was wonderful! Friendly staff, tasty food, and outdoor seating with the view of the canal created a very relaxing, lazy, have-a-beer summer afternoon vibe. The live music band was a cherry on top.

Atmosphere was top notch sitting outside on the creek. Waited for approximately 10 minutes for a hostess to even seat us. The one draft beer I wanted the keg had kicked and there were no other dark porter/stouts on tap. Food was good not as spectacular as I hoped. The fish fry was thin and overbattered. The coleslaw was bland and lacked flavor. We arrived around six were seated right away once a hostess showed up did not get our food till at least 45 minutes to an hour after...
