If you like sweet wines this is the place to taste! The employees were friendly and knowledgeable. We couldn't understand why we were the only ones there! Beautiful view while you taste as well. We bought the chocolate, peach, and port. Delish!
This winery is a rare find right in the backdrop of the finger lakes. The new and knowledgeable tasting room manager took us through the flight list and the story of how Caywood Vineyards is able to make champagne with approved recipes from the 1800's when a treaty was signed between their winery and france one, of the few wineries like this in the U.S. and right in the heart of the Finger Lakes. Can't believe we have passed this place so many times and haven't gone in. If you like Champagne (or think you don't), if you like Chateau Renaissance over in Hammondsport, you have to stop here too.
